At present in the Global Competition the organizations are showing greater interest towards Sustainable or “Green” marketing strategies. Sustainable or Green Marketing strategies is attributable to consumer sensitivity to environmental issues brought about by rising fuel prices, evidence of extensive ecological changes, and the tacit assumption that current consumption patterns place the planet’s prolonged existence at risk.

The reckless use of fossil fuels causes a lot of problems such as depletion of fossil fuels, rising oil prices, air pollution, and fine dust. 27% of the world's major energy sources are used for transportation, and most of the transportation fuels are used as fossil fuels.

On August 23rd , the Italian Treasury announced it is preparing a plan to temporarily reduce taxes on gasoline and other petroleum-based fuels by about one-third, sparking protests from environmental organizations saying the lower taxes will negate carbon taxes designed to discourage use of high-polluting fuels. In a prepared statement, the Italian Treasury said it would cut gasoline taxes but that details about the plan are still being worked out. The treasury plans to lower taxes temporarily as a way to ease the blow of rising oil prices.
