Road perspective

People over 64 years have a high fatality rate when they are involved in traffic accidents. Besides, older victims of road crashes are expected to rise in the future due to population aging. The purpose of the study was to document their perception on the role of the family doctor, the main facilitating factors, and the perceived barriers to the temporary or permanent restriction of their driving.

Driverless cars will dominate the road ways in the near future. Insurers often strategize to understand the technologies of autonomous cars, what they mean and the impact they may have on their business so they can then tackle that from an insurance perspective. In order to identify the changes going with autonomous cars development, the way of literature reviewing is conduct. AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), then, employed to evaluate the weights of the changes which go with the autonomous cars development from perspectives of insurers and agency separately.

So what is user experience (UX) anyway? You might think it would be a relatively easy term to define; however, when I reflected on the evolution of UX, it was quite a difficult task. Why? UX covers a broad range of interactions a person can have with a business, and in an increasingly connected world, the lines are blurring between the digital and nondigital spheres.

Looking back in my 26 years in education, I can’t think of a time when a book like this was needed more. Increasingly, we struggle to teach more in less time, prepare students for tests we often find not useful or descriptive, and stay on top of the field by reading new professional titles and research—and we do it all alone.

The oil spill required extended closures of fishing areas. These closures not only impact the people shrimping, crabbing, fishing and harvesting oysters, but also the seafood and hospitality industries as a whole. Transport companies, stores, sports fishing operations, trappers and restaurants also felt the impact of the spill. The questions asked in this section were meant to gauge the economic impact survey participants have experienced or believe they are yet to experience.

A recovery is on the horizon, but it will be a long and stony road before the EU economy reaches sustained growth. Following the escalation of the sovereign-debt crisis in the second half of 2011, the EU economy has entered a shallow recession in the fourth quarter. Since then, we have seen tentative signs of stabilisation. Yet, as the outlook for the EU economy is slowly improving, the situation remains extraordinarily fragile, and the risk of a renewed aggravation of the crisis is still present. The ebbing of the greatest financial market stress creates the...

In one's enthusiasm about something, one can easily lose perspective. Thus, although car- sharing clearly has a wide variety of positive effects, it cannot achieve everything one might hope. Even if during the next 20 years, the full potential of car-sharing in terms of number of households were achieved (somewhere around a million), this could only be expected to result in a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by road traffic of a few percent.

Are older drivers posing an increasing risk to the public? If they are, what options should policymakers consider to mitigate that risk? This research offers a new perspective on these questions. Using an innovative approach to estimate the extent to which older drivers are on the road and their riskiness compared with drivers of other

Recent studies have tested for particulate absorption through sampling leaves and examining the product of washing from broadleaved trees (plane, lime, elm, cherry and ash). Beckett et al. (2000b) sampled from five urban polluted sites within the South East of England2 , which were located in close proximity to road traffic. Using foliage density estimates, the total insoluble particle load per tree was found to vary between 41 and 2936 grams.

It cannot be said that the Everhard Manuscript is an important historical document. To the historian it bristles with errors—not errors of fact, but errors of interpretation. Looking back across the seven centuries that have lapsed since Avis Everhard completed her manuscript, events, and the bearings of events, that were confused and veiled to her, are clear to us. She lacked perspective. She was too close to the events she writes about. Nay, she was merged in the events she has described. Nevertheless, as a personal document, the Everhard Manuscript is of inestimable value.

With every new release of Windows Server, I always see lists of “What’s New” and “What’s Hot,” yet what I’m usually asked is, “Is it worth it?,” or “When should I upgrade?” Therefore, with each passing Beta and Release Candidate toward the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) for Windows Server 2008 (formerly known as Windows code name “Longhorn” Server), I’d like to present a different view of the road ahead for your Windows Server deployments. It’s not focused on the next code name “Vienna,” but simply Windows Server 2008:What to Expect.
