Nowadays, there are numerous ways to configure trocar placements for lobectomy using the Da Vinci Xi system. Cho Ray Hospital conducted robotic video-assisted thoracic surgery (rVATS) lobectomy in July 2018 and obtained satisfactory results. Currently, there is no research on rVATS lobectomy in Vietnam, so we decided to report our initial experiences using rVATS lobectomy in non-small cell lung cancer at our institute.

It remains debated how much fluid should be administered during surgery. The atrial natriuretic peptide precursor proANP is released by atrial distension and deviations in plasma proANP are reported associated with perioperative fluid balance.

Robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP) requires pneumoperitoneum and the Trendelenburg position to optimize surgical exposure, which can increase intracranial pressure (ICP). Anesthetic agents also influence ICP. We compared the effects of propofol and sevoflurane on sonographic optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) as a surrogate for ICP in prostate cancer patients who underwent RALP.

Decreased perfusion in the lower extremities is one of the several adverse effects of placing patients in a lithotomy or Trendelenburg position during surgery. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of patient positioning in lower limb perfusion patients undergoing robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RARP) using near-infrared spectroscopyc (NIRS).

The reliability of pulse pressure variation (PPV) and stroke volume variation (SVV) is controversial under pneumoperitoneum. In addition, the usefulness of these indices is being called into question with the increasing adoption of lung-protective ventilation using low tidal volume (VT) in surgical patients.

Peripheral pulmonary nodules are increasingly detected in patients screened for lung cancer or during disease progression of thoracic or extrathoracic malignancies. Sampling these lesions requires surgery, computed tomography (CT)-guided biopsy or bronchoscopic interventions.

Despite recent advances in diagnosis and treatment, cervical cancer continues to be a significant health problem worldwide. Whereas robot-assisted surgery has advantages over the abdominal approach, and minimally invasive techniques are being used increasingly, these may be associated with a higher recurrence rate and lower overall survival than the abdominal approach.

The application of robot-assisted laparoscopic techniques is new and generates numerous benefits for patients. Here, we summarise the experience of our first series through 52 cases of prostate cancer treated by robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) in the Department of Urology of Binh Dan Hospital, from December 2016 to September 2017, to study the learning curves of this procedure. In this clinical comparative study, 52 patients diagnosed with prostate cancer (clinical stage T1 to T3) received RARP with and without nerve sparing as well as standard pelvic lymphadenectomy.

In this paper, a new artificial skin tissue device which can emulate the stiffness of several organs of human is proposed and analyzed utilizing magneto-rheological (MR) fluid (MR skin). The proposed skin could be applied for the robot-assisted surgery manipulated by haptic devices as a controllable tactile sensor. The method in this paper is design of multi- embedded valve networks inside the structure of the master actuator.
