A series of chiral thioureas (1 - 17) were synthesized from and tested for their anticholinesterase, tyrosinase, and urease enzyme inhibitor activities. Various phenylisothiocyanates were added to solution of ˪-cysteine in methanol: water (1 : 1 v / v) at room temperature and stirred for 24 h. The precipitated solid was recrystallized from n-butanol. Pure compounds were characterized by NMR (1 H and 13C), FTIR, and CHNS.

This study introduces a new production method to use as a porous silicon-based proton exchange membrane for µDMFCs. In this respect, EIS, fuel crossover test, and fuel cell performance test at the µDMFC sample cell are performed at room temperature on a porous silicon-based membrane that was produced for passive mode µDMFC as a proton exchange membrane. The reason for performing the fuel crossover test is to ensure the silicon opened pores along the silicon wafer and to examine the fuel permeability of the membrane.

The electrolytes of 1 M NaFSI dissolved in various carbonate solvents containing EC, PC and/or DMC have been investigated to find out the most compatible electrolyte composition with hard carbon (HC) anode in Na-ion batteries (NIBs). The physical properties including viscosity and conductivity were measured to correlate with the electrochemical behaviors of these electrolytes. The Na/HC half-cell was used for testing the charge/discharge performance of prepared electrolytes at room temperature.

Mosquito-repellent incense (MRI) is a widely used product in the household. Although the quality of MRI has been strictly managed, it still has certain health effects in practical use. This study investigated the level of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in MRI smoke and its removal ability by photocatalysis. An online survey was conducted using Google form to select three typical types of MRI which are the most popular use in Vietnam (i.e., MOSFLY, RAID, and JUMBO VAPE) as well as their use level and condition.

Tobacco streak virus (TSV) causes necrosis on leaf, veins, petiole and stem in Blackgram. The sap extracted from the infected blackgram plants remains infectious upto 24 hrs at room temperature. Infectivity of TSV on cowpea progressively reduced in response to increasing in the temperature and dilution. The present investigation was carried out to test the physical properties of TSV such as longevity storage period, thermal inactivation point and dilution end point on Cowpea (CV C- 125) isolated from naturally infected Blackgram plants (CO-8).

A sharp 120o Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was applied at room temperature to refine the grains sizes of pure copper and copper - 1% Chromium alloy for spot welding electrode tips application. Initially deformation behavior was investigated with the position using colorful plasticine as work piece followed by copper alloy. It was found the deformation at the central part of the work piece is heavily sheared than the outer part.

Sawdust, inexpensive material has been utilized as an absorbent for the removal of iron from aqueous solution for their safe disposal. The adsorption experiments of untreated sawdust (SD) and treated sawdust (SDC) have been carried out at room temperature using the batch test. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were used to observe sorption phenomena of sawdust in the removal of iron. The results indicate that the sawdust was capable in removing iron in aqueous solution.
