This study has taken a new approach to investigating root causes of some of the problems that PWDs experience, an approach that places business activities at the centre of the study.

When the rhizosphere is nitrogen-starved, legumes and rhizobia (soil bacteria)enter intoa symbiosis that enables the fixation of atmospheric dinitrogen. This implies a complex chemical dialogue between partners and drastic changes on both plant roots and bacteria. Several recent works pointed out the importance of rhizobial surface polysaccharides in the establishing of the highly specific symbiosis between symbionts. Exopolysaccharides appear tobe essential for the early infection process.

Báo cáo khoa học: Correlation between functional and structural changes of reduced and oxidized trout hemoglobins I and IV at different pHs

Circular dichroism (CD) spectra of two major hemoglobin components (Hb), HbI and HbIV, from Oncorhyncus mykiss(formerly Salmo irideus) trout were evaluated in the range 250–600 nm. HbI is characterized by a complete insensitivity to pH changes, while HbIV presents the Root effect. Both reduced [iron(II) or oxy] and oxidized (met) forms of the two proteins were studied at different pHs, 7.8 and 6.0, to obtain information about the pH effects on the structural features of these hemoglobins.

Altered neuronatin expression in the rat dorsal root ganglion after sciatic nerve transection

Several molecular changes occur following axotomy, such as gene up-regulation and down-regulation. In our previous study using Affymetrix arrays, it was found that after the axotomy of sciatic nerve, there were many novel genes with significant expression changes. Among them, neuronatin (Nnat) was the one which expression was significantly up-regulated. Nnat was identified as a gene selectively expressed in neonatal brains and markedly reduced in adult brains.
