This paper shows that Sino-Vietnamese morphemes combine not only with other Sino-Vietnamese morphemes but also with non-Sino-Vietnamese morphemes, such as native Vietnamese and even Indo-European elements, particularly French loanwords. This phenomenon is not unique to Vietnamese: similar hybrid words can also be found in other Sino-xenic languages (Japanese and Korean) as well as Indo-European languages.

In fact, metaphors and metonymies are two popular ways to change the meanings of words. This study is centered around metaphors in 181 English and Vietnamese idioms related to colors. The comparative method, quantitative, qualitative, and semantic analysis are used throughout this study to find similarities and differences between metaphors in English and Vietnamese idioms related to colors in terms of linguistics and culture.

This paper investigates the syntactic features and expression exclamations in English in the novel "If tomorrow comes" by the author Sidney Sheldon and its Vietnamese equivalent by translator Nguyen Ba Long. This research aims to enhance comprehension of legal texts by applying Talmy's (2017) threestep process for identifying and integrating referents from contextual cues into linguistic forms. Drawing on pragmatics, discourse analysis, cognitive semantics, and Talmy's force dynamics notion, a qualitative content analysis investigates the cognitive processes readers use for cue detection, attention allocation, and semantic integration when reading court indictments.
