In Vietnam, SMEDI syndrome in sows caused by PPV is nationwide and has been of concern since the early 1990s. Previous studies have investigated the prevalence of PPVs using serological testing and PCR methods. The objective of this study is to analyze the genotypic prevalence of PPVs and molecular characterization of VP gene of PPV2 from slaughtered pigs in Central Vietnam.

Syphilis is a systemic disease caused by the transmission through sexual contact of Treponema pallidum. It has a high incidence in men who have sex with other men, and is associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. The diagnosis depends on serological tests or confirmation of the spirochete in histological samples.

Virus neutralization test (VNT) is widely used for serological survey of classical swine fever (CSF) and efficacy evaluation of CSF vaccines. However, VNT is a time consuming procedure that requires cell culture and live virus manipulation. C-strain CSF vaccine is the most frequently used vaccine for CSF control and prevention.

Serological screening of pig herds at the abattoir is considered a potential tool to improve meat inspection procedures and herd health management. Therefore, we previously reported the feasibility of a miniaturised protein microarray as a new serological IgG screening test for zoonotic agents and production diseases in pigs.

Leptospirosis is an endemic zoonosis in Brazil, with a great impact on human and animal health. Although dogs are frequently infected by pathogenic Leptospira, the current epidemiological understanding of canine leptospirosis is mainly based on serological tests that predict the infecting serogroup/serovar.

This study describes the usefulness of allergen-specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) serology (ASIS) for identifying allergens in dogs with atopic dermatitis. ASIS tests were conducted in 23 dogs diagnosed with atopic dermatitis for indoor allergens (yeast and mites), outdoor allergens (grass pollen, weed pollen, and tree pollen), and fleas.

A novel Brucella strain closely related to Brucella (B.) melitensis biovar (bv) 3 was found in Croatian cattle during testing within a brucellosis eradication programme. Case presentation: Standardised serological, brucellin skin test, bacteriological and molecular diagnostic screening for Brucella infection led to positive detection in one dairy cattle herd.

Performance of SD bioline Syphilis 3.0 for the diagnosis of syphilis a UPFR in immunology of CHU-JRA
Serology is considered the pillar of the syphilis diagnosis. The limitations of traditional serological methods, the advent and availability of new immunochromatographic tests have led to the widespread application of rapid procedures as syphilis screening tools. However, these tests are not widely evaluated. This study was designed to evaluate the performance of a rapid diagnostic test for syphilis known as SD BIOLINE Syphilis 3.0.

The present study was taken up to ascertain the seroprevalence of brucellosis in goats, sheep, and humans of Anand, districts of the Central Gujarat region. A total of 200 serum samples were collected from the goat and sheep of Anand district and subjected to different serological test i.e., Rose Bengal Plate test (RBPT), Standard Tube Agglutination Test (STAT) and Indirect ELISA to detect the Brucella antibody and also compared in terms of their sensitivity and specificity.
