The paper presents an overview of underwater traffic management systems utilizing sonar principles. Based on the evaluation of the current situation both domestically and internationally, the research team has proposed the development of a underwater signal processing algorithm based on an adaptive threshold in the Ultra-short Baseline System (USBL).

The paper proposes an enhanced solution for improving the accuracy of underwater object positioning based on the Ultra-Short Baseline (USBL) sonar principle. In shallow water regions, complex hydrological phenomena affect the quality of underwater acoustic signal transmission and reception, making it essential to enhance the processing of these signal groups.

This study presents some research results on the relationship between the geological environment of the surface layer and the level of modern tectonic activity in the sea waters of the Hoi An - Cua Dai area based on the interpretation of high-resolution shallow seismic data combined with the surface sediments’ grainsize analysis and other available data sources. The results show that the surface geological environment in the coastal waters North of the Thu Bon river fault is influenced by modern tectonic activities, believed to be a part of causing geological catastrophic events.

Ebook "Shallow lakes in a changing world: Proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Shallow Lakes, held at Dalfsen, The Netherlands, 5–9 June 2005" have given us deeper insights into the functioning of food-webs in shallow waters, nutrient dynamics in open water, and in the complexities of interactions in littoral and pelagic regions, and of the sedimentwater interphase. We are now starting to implement the knowledge gained in order to rehabilitate some lakes, if not restore them.

The shallow sea (0÷60 m of water depth) from Phu Loc (Thua Thien Hue)to Hoi An (Quang Nam) belongs to the internal shelf in Central Vietnam. This is quite a good geological structure for the land-sea interaction study, especially during the Holocene. Therefore, it is necessary to study the geological history of the area during the Holocene period.

In the Eastern Region of Mekong Delta (South Vietnam) may contain brackish or saline water from land surface to great depth, both superficial Quaternary and deep Tertiary Alluvium. The combination of two geophysical methods, the Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) for shallow investigation, and the Magnetotelluric Sounding (MTS) for deep investigation, provides a complete electrical image of the sedimentary series from the surface to the deep crystalline basement.

The model was applied to the study long wave propagation on uneven bathymetries, after that, compared with analytical solutions or published numerical ones to understand more about the interaction processes between the long wave and sea beach or island in terms of water and velocity profiles. Very good agreement is observed in the figures bellow, showing good application prospect.

The Quaternary Zarloukh Bentonite –Tuff (ZBT) deposit occurs within the Hemrin South Mountain, northern Iraq. The ZBT deposit occurs as depression-filling exposed on the erosional surface of the siliciclastic Pliocene Muqdadiya Formation and covered by an overburden of recent sediments. The thickness of the studied industrial bentonite bed is ~80−100 cm, occurring at the bottom of these depressions, covered by ~3−4 m thick bedded volcanic tuff, which also contains many 10–12 cm thick bentonite layers along its bedding planes.

Hanoi city has abundant groundwater, supplemented by the surface water (mainly Red river) all year round, and the extensive shallow aquifers, which are easily exploited by large-diameter wells. There always exists some open hydrogeological windows in the Red river area with an open structure; therefore, the groundwater has a strained hydraulic relationship with the Red river water system Along the Red river from Ba Vi to the end of Phu Xuyen district, there are nine regions with three types and four sub-types of different hydrogeological structures.

Energy of surface waves is almost dissipated as propagating from shallow water to muddy flat and in mangrove forest. The study aims to analyze energy spectral density by using Blackman-Tukey (BT) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) methods in order to analyze the wave energy in mangrove areas in Cu Lao Dung (Soc Trang province).

Anoplodactylus is the largest and the most abundant genus of Phoxichilidiidae, with 134 described species, most from shallow waters. The genus is cosmopolitan and easily encountered in Brazil. The present work catalogues the species of Anoplodactylus found in Brazilian waters and describes two new species for the coast of northeastern Brazil. The material analyzed here was deposited in the Invertebrate Collection Paulo Young, which comprises the specimens collected for several studies along the Brazilian coast. Unsampled species were recorded from the literature.

This is the first record of a pycnogonid for the Iranian coast. It is also the first record of an Endeis, and of Endeis biseriata, for the waters of the Gulf of Oman. A single specimen was collected in an algal bed of Padina sp., along Chabahar Bay, in February 2017. It is deposited in the Zoology Museum of the University of Hormozgan. E. biseriata is probably a native Indo-Pacific species that now has a wide world distribution, being probably pantropical. Morphological and ecological notes, as well as the distribution range of E.

Kinorhynchs from eight sandy, shallow water localities along the west and south coasts of Turkey were examined. The study resulted in the finding of six different species: Two species, Echinoderes gerardi and Cephalorhyncha flosculosa were known from Turkey, two species, Echinoderes riedli and Campyloderes vanhoeffeni were known from the Mediterranean, but are new to Turkey, and two species, Echinoderes sp. and E. shahmaranae sp. nov. are new to science. Echinoderes sp. resembles E. charlotteae from the Gulf of Mexico, but differs at some minor points.
