The results of the study indicate that the less stable criteria on each sample background are the basis for selecting evaluation criteria for subsequent studies that contribute to reducing the cost of monitoring. The difference in the time it takes to estimate the stability of the product when using different methods also helps manufacturers consider the appropriate evaluation method for their products.

This paper investigated the presence of cadmium and lead in the tissue samples of three marine shrimps taken from three major landing sites in the area. The samples were processed using nitric acid digestion and the heavy metal concentrations were analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS).

Monthly samples of seven species of penaeid shrimps, namely, Penaeus aztecus (Ives, 1891), Penaus hathor (Burkenroad, 1959) Penaus japonicus (Spence Bate,1888), Penaus kerathurus (Forskȧl,1775), Penaus semisulcatus (De Haan,1844), Metapenaeus monoceros (Fabricus, 1798) and Metapenaeopsis aegyptia (Galil & Golani, 1990) were collected from Antalya Bay in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea from March, 2019 through March, 2020. Except for P. aztecus and P. semisulcatus, no other shrimp species were infected with the parasitic isopod Epipenaeon ingens ingens. Of the 3043 P.

Shewanella algae is an emerging pathogen with an increasing rate of association in clinical samples worldwide. Exposure to marine and brackish waters has frequently been linked to human infection. The present study has examined the prevalence of the bacterium in shrimp which is a brackish water crop. The bacterium was isolated from about 8% of the shrimps’ samples cultured and sold in different parts of West Bengal, India. The isolates produced hemolysin and were thus considered virulent. An increase in the occurrence of human infections caused by S.

The multiple antibiotic resistance (MAR) index values of 0.4 to 0.73 (of each sample collection site) indicated that these isolates were exposed to high risk sources of contamination where antibiotics were commonly used. Conjugation experiments demonstrated the successful transfer of all or part of the resistance phenotypes of shrimp isolates to the human recipient strains.

Dynamics of infection in selected tissues of white spot syndrome virus-infected Litopenaeus vannamei
In the present study, tissue level dynamics of white spot syndrome virus infection in P. vannamei was investigated. For this healthy shrimps were challenged with the virus and a time course quantification of virus load in subcuticular epithelium, gills and pleopods was carried out by Real Time PCR against the generated standard curve, which could detect as minimum as 10 copies of virus in tissue samples. In the examined tissues, the viral load increased as time progressed, however, at different degrees.

Antibacterial activity of garlic was investigated on inhibition of Vibiro sp. isolated from shrimp farm water samples by well diffusion method. 100%, 50%, 25%, 10%, 5% of Fresh garlic juices were prepared from 100g garlic bulbs. Results indicated that the isolated Vibrio sp. showed different levels of sensitivity to different concentrations fresh garlic juice. The zone of inhibition of the bacterial growth increased with increasing concentration of fresh garlic juice. The results revealed that fresh garlic juice was effective against the test organism.

The study compiled and documented various indigenous techniques of controlling water pH, white feaces problem in shrimp, mortality, fish-lice and use of natural fish attractant along with the socio-economic background of the involved farmers and fishers in selected blocks of 24 Parganas (South) district, West Bengal. The survey was conducted through stratified multiple random sampling procedure in which 66 farmers from 19 potential fish farming villages of two blocks were investigated.

In this study systematic bacteriological examination of aseptically collected 150 shrimp samples, 27 samples of hand swabs from fish handlers were collected from retail fish outlets, and 23 stool samples from patients suffered with digestive disturbances after consumption of seafood reported to private clinics, all from Navsari city were investigated. The samples were enriched in Alkaline Peptone Water followed by direct plating on selective media viz. Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Salt Sucrose agar and Vibrio parahaemolyticus sucrose agar.

Hepaotopancreatic Microsporidiosis (HPM) caused by Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP), a microsporidian parasite to be associated with slow (retarded or stunted) growth and white feces syndrome (WFS) in cultured shrimp in many of the shrimp growing countries in Asia, also in India. In the present study, shrimp samples from various shrimp ponds from different Mandals of SPSR Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, India, were collected over a period of five months (February 2016 to June 2016). Important diagnosis observed were histopathological studies, molecular technique (PCR).

This study examined the prevalence of antimicrobial resistance associated with E. coli which is an indicator organism of contamination in shrimp ponds of Vannamei culture. A total of 173 isolates were isolated from 60 shrimp samples of selected areas of Maharashtra and were evaluated for isolation, identification and antibiotic sensitivity pattern for E. coli. Out of 173 isolates 67 isolates were found to be E. coli positive which is of 39.2 %.

Disease is one of the major factors affecting the development and sustainability of aquaculture. White spot disease caused by white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) results in severe production and economic losses to the shrimp farming industry worldwide. Recently, Hepatopancreatic microsporidiosis caused by Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) a microsporidian parasite has been reported to cause severe growth retardation and losses in commercial Penaeus vannamei farming. In the present study, we report the prevalence of white spot syndrome virus and hepatopancreatic microsporidiosis in the P.

Shrimp aquaculture has become an economically important one and production has decreased in recent years due to the spread of infectious diseases, mostly that caused by bacterial infection. The shrimp are affected by the toxic substances which eventually enter in to their systems and bring about external damages. This study explores, it was aimed to assessment of the physiochemical and microbiological quality of different farmed shrimp from Ratnagiri.

Shrimp by-product from shrimp processing industry was hydrolyzed by alcalase and flavourzyme and the process was optimized by response surface methodology. Shrimp byproduct was ground and treated with fixed alcalase 0.2 % (4.8A U/kg protein) and flavourzyme of different loadings (0.1 - 0.4 %), pH (6.0 - 9.0), temperature (45 - 65 oC) and hydrolysis time (5 - 1 3 h). At optimal conditions of pH of 7.5, temperature of 59 oC, flavourzyme loadings of 0.4 % (100 LAPU/g protein), alcalase of 0.2 %, and hydrolysis time of 8.2 h, hydrolysis degree was 36.

The conversion of inefficient agricultural and forest land to rice - shrimp farming model in the Mekong Delta in general and Ca Mau province in particular has brought remark benefits in terms of economic development. However, the introduction of salt water into some freshwater regions have created environmental problems, which is not only impact on shrimp farming but also on many other agricultural ecosystems.

Changes in melanosis, microbiology, and fat oxidation in Pacific white shrimps (Litopenaeus vannamei) when treated with Houttuynia cordata extract (designated E-DC) were monitored during cold storage for seven days at 20 C. Whole shrimps treated with E-DC solution (0.025%, w/v) revealed slow growth of total aerobic microorganisms, Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, throughout cold storage in comparison to the control sample treated by water (p0.05).
