In porous aquifers, the central-to-sea cross-section highlights meteoric water dominance from rain and surface sources. Groundwater undergoes exchange-absorption with silicate minerals, enriching Ca2+ and Mg2+ (reducing Na+). Seaward, dissolution and leaching of salts in marine-origin sediments (mQ2, mQ13, mQ12-3, and mN22) prevail. The results of this paper provide necessary information for the effective management of groundwater quality.

Ebook "Advances in physical geochemistry (Volume 2)" consists of three parts. Part I focuses on the research on intracrystalline reactions. This work, which began nearly two decades ago, is critically reviewed by Ghose and Ganguly in Chapter 1. Besides the review, the authors include some of their previously unpublished work to demonstrate how future research could aid in obtaining data on thermodynamics of solid solutions and in understanding the cooling history of igneous and metamorphic rocks.

Japanese silicate rock standard samples and the S2 Ranger XRF Spectrometer are utilized to create a calibration curve for analyzing major element concentrations of silicate rocks. The calibration curve created by the S2 Ranger XRF Spectrometer is proved to be suitable for analyzing major element concentrations of silicate rocks.

The Stravaj ophiolite compex, part of the western Mirdita ophiolite belt in Albania, is located east of the Shpati massif, and west of the Shebenik massif. The Stravaj ophiolite sequence itself consist of MOR-related and subductionrelated volcanic rocks (Hoeck et al. 2007) formed by pillow lavas and various dykes.

The Çatak and Küreci skarn districts are located approximately 10 km NW of Emet (Kütahya) in Western Turkey. The skarn and associated ore formations mainly occur at the contact between intrusive rocks of the Eğrigöz Plutonic Complex (EPC) and calcareous pelitic schists with limestone lenses of the Sarıcasu Formation and meta-carbonate rocks of the Arıkaya Formation.

Beneficiation (or concentration) processes are gener- ally used to upgrade the phosphate content by removing contaminants and barren material prior to further processing. A few ores are of sufficiently high quality to require no further concentration. The natu- rally occurring impurities contained in phosphate rock ore depend heavily on the type of deposit (sedi- mentary or igneous), associated minerals, and the extent of weathering. Major impurities can include organic matter, clay and other fines, siliceous material, carbonates, and iron bearing minerals.
