  • The tradition is kept, but expressed by a new rhythm and breath. And it shows that myths always live and go through centuries in a new improvisation. In Turkish provinces everybody knows the Khizir’s Spirit as a cradle song. It is the symbol of the Holiness from its original date. Khizir- a thousand year old Turk fondles his love by the language of the lullaby and bayaties.

  • The evolutionary pressures that underlie the large-scale functional organization of the genome are not well understood in eukaryotes. Recent evidence suggests that functionally similar genes may colocalize (cluster) in the eukaryotic genome, suggesting the role of chromatin-level gene regulation in shaping the physical distribution of coordinated genes.

  • Circos is a Perl language based software package for visualizing similarities and differences of genome structure and positional relationships between genomic intervals. Running Circos requires extra data processing procedures to prepare plot data files and configure files from datasets, which limits its capability of integrating directly with other software tools such as R.

  • In recent years, many studies focused on the description and comparison of large sets of related bacteriophage genomes. Due to the peculiar mosaic structure of these genomes, few informative approaches for comparing whole genomes exist: dot plots diagrams give a mostly qualitative assessment of the similarity/ dissimilarity between two or more genomes, and clustering techniques are used to classify genomes.

  • Many computational tools that detect recombination in viruses are not adapted for the ongoing genomic revolution. A computational tool is needed, that will rapidly scan hundreds/thousands of genomes or sequence fragments and detect candidate recombination events that may later be further analyzed with more sensitive and specialized methods.

  • A common task for scientists relies on comparing lists of genes or genomic regions derived from high-throughput sequencing experiments. While several tools exist to intersect and visualize sets of genes, similar tools dedicated to the visualization of genomic region sets are currently limited.

  • Eco-friendly IPM module for the management of major sucking pests of cotton was demonstrated in the farmer‟s field. Eco-friendly IPM module has significantly reduced the sucking pests population. The leafhoppers population was low (1.5 number / 3 leaves) in the demo plots and it was high (4.2 numbers/ 3 leaves) in the check plots. Similarly the aphids, thrips, whitefly and mealy bug population were low in the demo plots when compared to the check plots.

  • In the study area, adoption of hybrid rice was started in 2005 and maximum adoption was in 2012. Majority (80%) of the farmers growhybrid-6444 variety of hybrid rice in their first year, with an average yield of 61.37 q/ha. There are many comparative benefits of hybrid rice reported by the farmers but along with it many constraints were also faced by the farmers in its cultivation. The time variable allows us to classify the respondents into adopter categories. Both curves of the adoption of hybrid rice over time by the farmers and s-shaped curve on cumulative basis were plotted.

  • A comparative experiment study was carried out with chawki and direct brushing tasar silkworm on the tasar silkworm’s host plant Arjun leaves. The chawki method was carried out during I and II instars larva followed succeeding instars brushed in common plot whereas, direct brushing method was reared entire life cycles in common block plantation plots. The results indicated duration of silkworm larva was observed four days earlier with reared in chawki method than direct brushing method. Mortality rate of silkworm was found minimum under Chawki method.
