Social capital and firm performance

The prime objective of the currents study is to explore and describe an innovative supply chain for the Thai manufacturing firms. The study has examined the direct impact of SC partner innovation, product innovation strategy, organizational innovation climate (OIC) and strategic relationship on the partner innovation performance. In addition to that the mediating role of product innovation strategy in the relationship between SC partner innovation and partner innovation performance is examined.

The study has aimed to examine the impact of the supply chain social capital (SCCC) on the supply chain performance (SCHPER) of the Indonesian manufacturing firms. In addition to that the study has examined the mediating role of supply chain integration(SCHINT) and supply chain sustainability in the relationship between the supply chain social capital(SCCC) on the supply chain performance of the Indonesian manufacturing firms. The study provides empirical evidence for the role of SCI as a mediator on the relationship between social capital in supply chain and firm's performance.

The research examines the influence of three organizational pressures (such as, government, customer and rivals) on performance associated with environment and operations. These three organizational forces are analyzed by adopting green supply chain management (GSCM), considering the senior management and examining social capital in the supply chain between buyers and sellers. Information was obtained by an email questionnaire from buying companies in Indonesian manufacturing sector.

This study contributes to the entrepreneurship literature, social capital theory, the resource-based view, and incremental innovation, by revealing that entrepreneurial proactiveness and social adaptability are positively associated with structural and relational capital building. Structural capital is positively related to human capital acquisition, and there is a positive relationship between relational capital and tacit knowledge acquisition.

This article investigates the causal connection between social capital (SC), knowledge transfer, innovation and firm performance. Based on existing literature on social capital, we develop a research model showing that three dimensions of social capital, including network ties, trust and shared visions, have positive relationships with company performance via two mediators, namely knowledge transfer and innovation.

SMEs contribute greatly to GDP and job creation in Vietnam. Studies of what factors are important to the development of SMEs in Vietnam are, however, scarce. Particularly, there has been little rigorous research focusing on the roles of human and social capital of the owners. This study reveals that education, knowledge, and social networks of the owners are essential for innovations in management and performance of the SMEs in Vietnam.

This article aims at testing the relationship between owners’ human and social capital resources and firms’ financial performance, using the survey of 2,739 SMEs in Vietnam in 2004 conducted by Vietnam’s Institute of Labor Studies and Social Affairs (ILSSA) and The Faculty of Economics - Copenhagen University.
