Socio economics variability

This article explores the determinants of interregional labour migration in southern Russian regions. Using a basic gravity model with very specialized variables (working-age population, the nearest distance between the administrative regional centres) we partially confirmed hypotheses concerning the presence of a gravitational link between separate regions in southern Russia.

The results show positive impact from firms’ indicators of market orientation such as the improvement of existing products, the percentage of important customers within the same commune as the location of the firms, and the firm’s prioritizing attitude towards contacts of competitors within their network size. At the same time, the results detect negative impact on firms’ access to finance from the introduction of new operational processes/technologies, the number of important customers attributable to the increased resultant costs.

The research aimed to evaluate impacts of macro socio-economic factors including population, GDP growth, inflation and interest rates on the dependant variable “rice price” in Vietnam. We will concentrate on Vietnam case and just use Thailand data as references to compare to Vietnam. The research used quantitative design with econometric model with 4 macro economic factors affecting rice price to reflex food security.

The present study was conducted in Rewari and Khol block of Rewari district Haryana, with the objective to know the socio-economic status of SHG members. The data on socioeconomic variables were collected from 90 respondents drawn from 30 SHGs. The study revealed that almost all the members were land less and found to belong to middle age group (35-46 years), married, practicing dairy as major occupation, small herd size and belonging to low income group.

The present investigation was carried out during 2005-06 in four randomly selected cooperative branches of District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB) of Raipur district. Majority of respondents were regular in repayment of their loan. Correlation analysis between independent and dependent variables also reveals that socio-economic status and extension contact shows positively and highly significant and remaining variables exhibited non-significant relationship with loan repayment performance of respondents.

The data was collected through personal interview with help of interview schedule. The data finalized and tabulated was done with the use of percentage, mean and standard deviation for drawing the inferences with variables on the basis of data it was observed that the MNREGA job holder belongs to below poverty line.

The present study assessed the status of farm level agricultural sustainability for rainfed and irrigated farmers in Raichur and Yadgir districts of North Eastern Karnataka by constructing Farmers Sustainability Index (FSI) encompassing four component indicators of farm level sustainability viz., Economically sustainable farming practices, Environmentally sustainable farming practices, Sustainable crop production practices and Socio economic factors. The primary data on 33 variables was collected from the 240 farmers which comprised 120 irrigated and 120 rainfed farmers.

The study was conducted in Ratnagiri district. In all, 112 PRI woman members were selected from four Panchayat Samities, five Grampanchayats from each selected Panchayat Samiti and Ratnagiri Zilha Parishad on the basis of maximum number of woman members. The personal and socio-economic characteristics namely age, education, land holding, annual income, major occupation, official position, tenure of work, cosmopoliteness, extension contact, organizational participation, interest in public work and political awareness of the respondents were considered as the independent variables.

A study on Socio economic profile of the grape growers in district Ganderbal was carried out during 2017-18. By proportionate allocation method, 120 respondents were selected from 6 villages of Lar block. The data was elicited through personal interview method. The findings of this study revealed that the majority of the respondents were found illiterate in middle age group with annual income of Rs 2 lakh and land holding up to 10 kanals (1 kanal = 1/20th hectare).

The indigenous technical knowledge (ITK) regarding animal husbandry is considered as old as domestication of various livestock species. Unfortunately, these practices which are in vogue throughout the rural India are little documented and there is danger of extinction of this knowledge. Thus it is become imperative to collect and document these practices. A semi structured interview schedule was used for the data collection from 10 traditional healers and 120 livestock owners.

In Vietnam, modern and small hydropower reservoirs play an important role in socio-economic development. However, the effective operation of such reservoirs based on the argument of the release function and expected future inflow is one of the most important variables that the operators will reply on to control such release. In other words, to attenuate floods, the operators have to release water in advance, so to create an empty volume (flood volume) in the reservoir, into which the excess in flow can be accommodated during the flood events.
