Software Defined Network

This approach can be problematic because SDN networks have different characteristics than traditional computer systems. In this paper, we propose a new method for SDN intrusion detection using machine learning. Our method addresses the problem of data imbalance, which is a common problem with machine learning datasets.

In this paper, we propose a new detection model that classifies traffic before deciding which machine learning algorithm used. The flexible processing and centralized management of Software Defined Network (SDN) controller allow deploying complex algorithms and mitigation methods quickly. By setting up a testbed, we implement our model as well as evaluating the parameters of accuracy successfully. The results show that our model is able to detect attack traffic quickly and exactly.
