  • Fungi have diverse biotechnological applications in, among others, agriculture, bioenergy generation, or remediation of polluted soil and water. In this context, culture media based on color change in response to degradation of dyes are particularly relevant; but measuring dye decolorisation of fungal strains mainly relies on a visual and semiquantitative classification of color intensity changes.

  • In nature, there exist a wide variety of microbes that can be of any economical importance to humans. A specialized group of microorganisms includes pigmented yeasts. They are yeasts that develop colored pigment as their secondary metabolites. In this study, pigmented yeasts were isolated from different sample (soil, leaves, fruits, coconut, and air) on Sabouraud’s agar. Four strains were selected that showed pigmentation. Various morphological and biochemical tests were performed for identification of the strains.

  • The main reason to study this area is to evaluate soil health status at various depth by analysing the physical properties of soil. So that to make recommendation towards achieving sustainable utilization and agricultural production. The most important reason for choosing this area is that as of very less research paper in this region most of the farmers are not aware about theresoil condition. Thus, still they are dependent on conventional method without implementing advance technology.

  • Collar rot or damping off disease occurs on one to four month old tender coffee (Coffea Arabica) seedlings in the nursery. Sometimes, the collar rot pathogen infects coffee seeds sown on the seed beds and prevents the germination. However, the pathogen fails to establish in coffee seedlings when the stem at collar region turns brown in color and becomes harder. It is a soil inhibiting fungus with a wide host range including coffee.

  • A red pigment producing bacteria was isolated from soil sample which was identified by 16S r RNA sequencing as Serratia rubidaea JCM 1204T. The red pigment produced was tested for prodigiosin by presumptive color test, adsorption spectra, and its quantification was carried out on King’s B medium. For presumptive color test, the extracted pigment solution was divided into two portions. One part was acidified with a drop of concentrated HCl and the other part was alkalinized with a drop of concentrated ammonia solution.

  • Pseudomonas fluorescens is an aerobic, gram-negative, ubiquitous bacterium present in agricultural soils that is well adapted to grow in the rhizospheric as well as phyllospheric zone. An experiment was conducted at Shree Agrasen Kanya P.G. College, Varanasi, U.P. India aimed to determine the morphological features of P. fluorescens as well as to carry out the process and method of its commercial production of powder formulation of the bio-control agent P. fluorescens 1 % W.P for its effective use at field.

  • The primary objective of this study is to explore fungal pigments as a source for dyeing colorants. Owing to the conflicting reports on the safety of textile and leathers during dyeing and due to the indiscriminate use of non-permitted colors, there is an urgent need to identify natural pigment sources as safe textile colorant. This study critically examines the potentials of fungi as sources production of biocolorant. Along with an established pigment producing fungus, Monascus, newer fungi have been explored and reported.

  • Blue banded bees are solitary bees which are characterized by their glittering blue color bands on their abdomen. They construct their nests and brood cells for their young ones in soils. The developmental biology of blue banded bees is maximum sixty days and varied according to climatic conditions. They are polylectic and wild pollinators playing major role in crop pollination. Research on blue banded bees is very limited and less studies. In this review we will focus on diversity, bio-ecology and behavior of blue banded bees.

  • A total of 50 PPFM’s were isolated from rhizosphere soil and phyllosphere of direct seeded rice regions of Hyderabad-Karnataka. Samples of leaves and rhizosphere soils were collected from direct seeded rice grown in different location (Raichur district, Bellary district, Koppal district and Yadgir district). Thereafter, all the classical recommended methods used for identification of all the obtained isolates were carried out including, morphological, microscopical as well as biochemical characteristics. The results revealed that all the isolates were gram negative, rod shaped, motile.
