In the greenhouse experiment, wheat plants (Triticum aestivum L. cv. Giza 168) were treated with 10 mM of maltose and trehalose as foliar spray using Tween 20 as wetting agent at 15, 30 and 45 days post sowing with two times of irrigation at 10 and 20 days intervals. Two samples were taken after 45 and 120 days from planting.

Seeds from yellow passion fruit Passiflora edulis var. flavicarpa present dormancy imposed by the seed coat. The present study aimed to evaluate some treatments to overcome this dormancy for better germination. An experiment was conducted during 2015 to study the effect of different pre-sowing treatments on germination, vigour and growth of passion fruit. The study showed significant differences among the treatments. Maximum germination percentage (89.51%) and least mean germination time (11.67 days after sowing) was observed in seeds treated with sulphuric acid for 4 minutes.

Seeds of Gmelina arborea many times do not germinate due to unknown reason. So the study was initiated to determine optimum stage of fruit maturity (green, yellow and yellow brown), suitable growing environment (agro-net shade and open field condition) and sowing time (August, September, October, November, December and January) on germination and seedling growth. Significant differences were exhibited among the fruit maturity levels, growing environment and sowing time for all the traits.

Weather is the major threats for wheat production in South East Asia region and highly influenced by the environmental conditions, sowing date, nature of genotypes and growth stages of wheat. Climate change is a serious concern for the food security and lively hood of small farmers as reported from all over world. A period of 30 years is decided as a period of climate change study by World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).So the period from 1985-2016 is taken for the study.
