Hydnophytum formicarum is a medicinal plant that has a variety of bioactive compounds and has been traditionally used for therapeutic purposes. Hydnophytum formicarum grows on the stems of large trees and in a symbiosis with a type of ants. This study investigates the effects of technological factors on the extraction process of Hydnophytum formicarum in n-hexan, ethyl acetate, and ethanol solvents by using the Soxhlet method.

This paper describes the synthesis of a series of metal-free phthalocyanines and metallophthalocyanines peripherally substituted by macrocycles of different ring sizes with the same donor atom sets. The effects of varying ring size of the macrocycle on the spectroscopic and metal ion binding properties of phthalocyanines were examined. For these purposes, electronic absorption properties for metal-free phthalocyanines and metallophthalocyanines were studied in dimethylformamide and tetrahydrofuran.

This study was conducted to investigate the physicochemical, phytochemical, in vitro antidiabetic and anticancer potential of Olea ferruginea R bark. After extraction using Soxhlet, in vitro antidiabetic and cytotoxic activity on human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells was assessed by nonenzymatic glycosylation of hemoglobin assay, alpha-amylase inhibition assay, glucose uptake by yeast cells, and 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay, respectively, and gene expression via real-time polymerase chain reaction.

The study was planned to assess the efficacy of pomegranate and onion peel extracts on cotton fabric with respect to bacterial resistance. Pomegranate and onion peel extract were extracted by soxhlet method and applied in two concentrations i.e. 3g/l and 5g/l. Desized and scoured cotton fabric was finished with these two pure extracts of pomegranate and onion peels and their three standardized combinations by exhaust method.

Experiments were carried out to determine the insecticidal activity of Aegle marmelos Correa against Callosobruchus chinensis L. in the laboratory. Plants were extracted with petroleum ether, methanol, ethanol and water by using Soxhlet apparatus and tested against adult of C. chinensis. Plant extracts were showed insecticidal activity by affecting through mortality, oviposition deterrence and inhibition of F1 adult emergence.

The present investigation was carried out to evaluate the phytochemicals from hexane extracts of wild sage, Lantana camara var. aculeata (L.) Moldenke. Out of the six concentrations tested against diamondback moth larvae on cauliflower, 6, 8,10 % were found to be more persistent than1 and 2% against 2, 3 and 4th instar of DBM larvae.

An investigation was undertaken on fractionation of secondary metabolites from Ocimum sanctum and Aloe barbadensis Mill to check their antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger and Sclerotium rolfsii. The protein and non protein parts present in the leaves of Lippia nodiflora were separated and test their nematicidal activity against egg hatching and juvenile mortality of Meloidogyne incognita. The non protein part was found to inhibit the root knot nematode egg hatching under in vitro conditions. Leaf extraction was done with different solvent such as petroleum ether, chloroform methanol using soxhlet apparatus and the residue was discarded.

The purpose of this work is to provide a complete study of the influence of operational parameters of the supercritical carbon dioxide assisted extraction (SC CO2E) on yield of wedelolactone from Wedelia calendulacea Less., and to find an optimal combination of factors that maximize the wedelolactone yield. To develop and evaluate the analgesic effects of the tincture from the Momordica cochinchinensis seeds - Ramulus cinnamomi. Methods: The Momordica cochinchinensis seeds were extracted by the Soxhlet method. Total saponins were determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometry after extracts had been colored with perchloric acid, vanillin in glacial acetic acid. Ramulus cinnamomi were extracted by the percolation. The tincture was made by combining the extract of the Momordica cochinchinensis seeds and Ramulus cinnamomi. The skin irritation of tincture was evaluated in rabbits.
