This study was conducted to examine the effects of baby corn density on the crop and weed performance under two different maizesoybean intercropping systems. The results showed that the yield of soybean and the growth of the weeds were statistically different under the different maize-soybean intercropping systems.

Bio-rational studies were carried out for predatory pentatomid bugs in soybean with eight treatments. The results found that significantly highest in pentatomid bugs population was found in experimental plots treated with Trap crop (Castor) compare to rest of treatments and at par with NSKE 5%, Neem oil 5% and Intercrop (Sorghum). Secondly better treatment is Pongamia oil 2% except mechanical control and Chlorpyriphos 20EC @2ml/lit.

Bio-rationals studies were carried out for Spodoptera litura in soybean with eight treatments. The results found that significantly reduction in S.litura population was found in experimental plots treated with chlorpyriphos 20EC @2ml/lit compare to rest of treatments. Chlorpyriphos 20EC @2ml/lit was statistically superior in controlling S.litura population and at par with NSKE 5% and Neem oil 5%. Trap crop (castor) found effective in reduction of S.litura population. It was statistically superior compare to rest of the treatments and at par with Pongamia oil 2% and intercrop (sorghum).

A field experiment was conducted at Central Institute for Cotton Research Farm, Nagpur for three years in medium deep clay loam soil. The experiment was laid out in RBD design with three replications consist of three herbicide based weed management packages in intercropping of non Bt cotton + soybean and two sole crops. Non Bt cotton+ soybean intercropping reduced seed cotton yields considerably in a year of very 640 mm higher rainfall over normal caused over growth of soybean.

Crop diversification with resource efficient and remunerative cropping systems is a sustainable agricultural practice. On farm demonstrations with diversified cropping system of Redgram + soybean Vis-a-Vis farmers’ practice of sole cotton were conducted in ten farmer’s locations of Warangal district of Telangana state. Crop diversification with red gram + soybean realized 29.9% higher (3706 kg ha-1 ) mean cotton kapas equivalent yield over farmer’s practice of cultivation of sole cotton (2852 kg ha-1 ). Mean technology and extension gap were 594 kg ha-1 and 854 kg ha-1 respectively.

Shading includes low light intensity and varying quality. However, a low red/far-red (R/Fr) ratio of light is a signal that affects plant growth in intercropping and close- planting systems. Thus, the low R/Fr ratio uncoupling from shading conditions was assessed to identify the effect of light quality on photosynthesis and CO2 assimilation.
