Considering the female preponderance of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and disease onset typically after the reproductive years, pregnancy and childbirth may play a role in the aetiology of the disease. Adverse outcomes of pregnancy have been found to precede the diagnosis of auto immune diseases, including RA, but the evidence is scant and inconsistent.

After getting pregnant by in vitro fertilization (IVF), pregnancy loss is one factor that prevents the baby from being born. An estimated 80% of pregnancy loss occurs in the first trimester, which is higher than in the natural pregnancy. The reason is said to be that the age of women receiving fertility treatment is often higher, leading to ovarian reserve, and decreased oocyte quantity and quality.

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease (STD), caused by Treponema pallidum. It not only has significant implications on public health but also facilitates the acquisition of other STDs such as HIV infection as well as complicates pregnancy related outcomes. Several definitions of abortion are found in the literature but it is widely accepted that abortion is the loss of a pregnancy before the period of via-bility1,2. This period of viability will depend on the resources available; in many resource-poor settings most of the babies delivered at gestational age of 28 weeks or more may survive.

Turbines represented in Configurations 1 and 3 will yield power dependent directly on process demands, since no condensing section capability exists. Their power production depends on the rise and fall of the steam demand. The addition of condensing capability (Configurations 2, 4 and 5) provides added power- generating flexibility. When a condenser is used, power can be generated independently from the process steam demand (assuming that the steam turbine is sized accordingly).

Many Practices Adopted to Some Degree. When we consider those charities and congregations that say they have adopted these practices to some degree, however, we get a different picture. Except for the uncommon practice of outcome measurement among congregations, all nine items are practiced by a majority of charities and congregations at least to some degree. For example, although only 25 percent of charities say they offer training and professional development opportunities for volunteers to a large degree, another 49 percent say that they offer these opportunities to some degree.

As is well known, a large part of the remittances is channelled via the informal financial system through money transfer companies. So far, the access of migrants and their families to the formal financial system has been very limited due, in part, to the fact that a large proportion of the remittance senders are in an irregular situation in the developed countries. Cost and insecurity are usually pointed out as the main disadvantages to transferring remittances via the informal system.
