Stability of structures

  • In low-cost permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive systems, the rotor position is usually estimated based on the back-electromotive force. However, such estimation methods have the common drawback of having large errors in low-speed regions. In order to solve that drawback in the startup phase, the I-f startup method is studied as its compatibility with the FOC control structure. The purpose of such a method is to make the motor accelerate and overcome the low-speed threshold.

  • The present study conducted a numerical comparison of these two types of tunnels. The results indicated that the presence of an interior column help to increase the stability of the lining structure. The internal forces within the quasi-rectangular tunnel with an interior column are smaller than those of the sub-rectangular tunnel and quasi-rectangular tunnel without an interior column.

  • In this work, we have shown that the addition of Zn to nanocrystalline nickel ferrite enhanced its H2 sensing properties, such as sensitivity, response time, and stability. This is explained due to the formation of defects and oxygen vacancies in the crystal structure due to the substitution of Zn ions in place of Ni ions. These defects generated more active sites for H2 gas to interact with, resulting in improved sensing performance.
