Quality evaluation of enzyme liquefied papaya juice concentrate (PJC) stored at various temperatures
This paper aims to study the effect of storage on enzyme liquefied papaya juice concentrate. Papaya pulp was liquefied using pectinase enzyme for juice extraction. The enzyme liquefied juice was subjected to concentration process by adopting Single Effect Tubular Evaporator (SETE) at 50°C with 24 inches vacuum.

Chemical absorption of CO2 into aqueous amine solutions using a nonstirred bubble column was experimentally investigated. The performance of CO2 absorption of four different primary and secondary amines including monoethanolamine (MEA), piperazine (PZ), 2-piperidineethanol (2PE), and homopiperazine (HPZ) were compared. The effects of initial concentration of amine, the inlet mole fraction of CO2 , and solution temperature on the rate of CO2 absorption and CO2 loading (mol CO2 /mol amine) were studied in the range of 0.02–1 M, 0.10–0.15, and 25–40 °C, respectively.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of chitosan concentration on the quality and shelf life of tofu. Tofu is treated by soaking in a chitosan solution with a concentration of 0.75 - 1.5%. The results showed that chitosan concentration 1% give the most stable pH value during storage, pH value ranged from 5.9 to 6.28, chitosan concentration of 0.75%, 1% and 1.25 % for the least reduced protein value.

Chlorophyll is well-known as the only natural green pigment that owns high biological values with an enormous amount worldwide. In this study, the experiment was designed to a two-level factorial design with three factors, including storage temperature (4 and 28oC), level of light (with or without light transmission through the package), and level of oxygen (high and low oxygen concentration in package).

Decolorization of Reactive Red 3 from aqueous solution by laccase immobilized on the nanocomposite was studied in different conditions (pH, temperature, dye concentration, and reaction time) to investigate the decolorization activity with repeated use and storage. The results indicated that more than 77% of the activity of laccase immobilized systems was retained at the end of 10 cycles. The final decolorization capacity of the immobilized laccase was significantly higher (65%) than that of free laccase (33%) in the chosen optimized conditions (pH 5, 20 ◦ C, 0.

Edible coatings were produced using whey (30% and 60%) and glycerol. Samples were compared to a control (no coating), during storage at both temperatures. Storage at 10 °C improved the maintenance of the acerola colour, while storage at 5 °C increased the stability of vitamin C and decreased microbial growth (p ≤0.05). The application of edible coating reduced the total colour variation and degradation (a*) at both temperatures. The concentration of whey influenced significantly (p≤0.

In this study, the effects of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) treatment on the antioxidant enzymes and fruit quality parameters of baby squash (Cucurbita pepo L., cv. Soleil F1 and İskender F1 ) during cold storage was investigated. After being freshly harvested, the İskender F1 (green-skinned) and Soleil F1 (yellow-skinned) baby squash were treated with 250 and 500 ppb concentrations of 1-MCP and stored at 10 °C for 14 days.

Temperature and grain moisture content are the main factors affecting grain spoilage in storage. These factors have a significant impact on the maintenance of quality, insect, fungus, and pest development. The main objective of this study was to determine the CO2 concentration and respiration rate of hulled einkorn wheat in different temperatures (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 °C) and grain moisture contents (9.1%, 11.5%, 13.8%, and 15.9%, wet basis) by means of CO2 sensors.

The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of pH on the lipid oxidation of red onion skin extracts (ROSEs) treated with washed tilapia muscle model systems (WTMS). Minced and buffered washed samples were prepared at pH 6.3 and 6.8. The WTMS were treated with2 different concentrations of red onion skin prior to storage for 5 days. Lipid oxidation was investigated via peroxide values (PVs), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), and the formation of volatile compounds. Fatty acid profiles of the samples were also identified.

Asparagine is a very important nitrogen transport and storage compound in plants due to its high nitrogen/carbon ratio and stability. Asparagine intracellular concentration depends on a balance between asparagine biosynthesis and degradation. The main enzymes involved in asparagine metabolism are asparagine synthetase (ASN), asparaginase (NSE) and serine-glyoxylate aminotransferase (SGAT).

Escherichia coli C forms more robust biofilms than other laboratory strains. Biofilm formation and cell aggregation under a high shear force depend on temperature and salt concentrations. It is the last of five E. coli strains (C, K12, B, W, Crooks) designated as safe for laboratory purposes whose genome has not been sequenced.
