The aim of the research was the processing of the vibration signatures from healthy and damaged composite beams acquired with the help of a Scanning Laser Vibrometer (SLV) upon excitation and analysis of the mode shapes acquired for damage detection. The displacement mode shapes acquired were then converted into curvature mode shapes with the help of a Central Difference Approximation method (CDA).

One significant challenge faced by the aviation industry is the cost and time associated with maintaining aircrafts, in particular, aging airliners. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is a possible approach to reduce the high cost of inspection and maintenance.

Luận án này tập trung vào nghiên cứu dầm FGM áp điện có vết nứt nhằm mục tiêu phát triển một phương pháp chẩn đoán vết nứt trong dầm FGM sử dụng vật liệu áp điện.

In this paper, the technique of structure health monitoring was applied to detect damage occurrence in the stiffeners of wing structure. A wing structure of airfoil shape according to digital NACA 0015 was considered for modelling the aerodynamic wing shape.
