  • This paper aims to provide information about the fractions of cadmium (Cd) and its distribution in surface sediment collected from bivalves harvesting areas in Binh Thuan province (Tuy Phong, Phan Thiet, Lagi). For this purpose, the sediment samples were collected monthly along with these areas in 2015–2016. To analyze the fractions of Cd, a five-step Tessier (1979) sequential extraction process was used, including Fraction 1 (Exchangeable), Fraction 2 (Bound to carbonate), Fraction 3 (Bound to iron-manganese oxide), Fraction 4 (Bound to organic compounds), and Fraction 5 (Residual).

  • Varto and the surrounding region have important geothermal fields, developing in strike-slip tectonic setting in East Anatolia, which resulted from the collision of the Arabian and Eurasian plates. The main structural elements in the area are the NE-trending sinistral and NW-trending dextral strike-slip fault segments and N-S trending extension zones. In order to determine fault-controlled geothermal circulation, it is very important to fully characterize the structural elements in these complex environments.

  • CeO2–ZrO2-composed NiO and Co3O4 catalysts were prepared by 3 different methods. Both CO methanation and selective CO methanation were carried out. All catalysts were prepared by (1) co-precipitation, (2) surfactantassisted co-precipitation, and (3) surfactant-assisted co-precipitation with ultrasound mixing methods. Catalysts were characterized by using N2 physisorption, XRD, SEM, TEM, and TPR-H2 techniques. The highest surface area value, uniform pore size distribution, and pores having small diameters were observed for the catalysts prepared by using the surfactant and ultrasound.

  • NiO–Al2O3–ZrO2 and Co3O4–Al2O3–ZrO2 catalysts were prepared by three different co-precipitation methods, namely co-precipitation, surfactant-assisted co-precipitation, and surfactant-assisted co-precipitation with ultrasound mixing methods, and their activities were tested in selective CO methanation. Catalysts were characterized using N2 physisorption, XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, and TPR-H2 techniques. CO methanation and selective CO methanation reactions were carried out.

  • In the present study, we successfully prepared two different electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) based-activated carbon nanofiber (ACNF) composites by incorporation of well-distributed Fe2O3 and Co3O4 nanoparticles (NPs). The influence of metal oxide on the structural, morphological, and textural properties of final composites was thoroughly investigated. The results showed that the morphological and textural properties could be easily tuned by changing the metal oxide NPs.

  • The objective of the study is to avoid temperature cross which is very likely to be occurred in triple-fluid heat exchangers. The temperature cross or temperature meet results in the ineffective surface area in a heat exchanger. Thereby the designer or operator can adjust the design parameters, e.g. geometric parameters of the exchanger, temperatures or fluid flow rates, so that the temperature cross does not occur.

  • Dong Nai Province has abundant surface and groundwater resources. However, in recent years, due to the impact of climate change, there have been unusual changes, hot weather has occurred in the rainy season, rainfall has been distributed. Climate change strongly affects water resources in all aspects: flooding, changing water levels, saline intrusion ... Changes in water resources will affect related areas: changes in exploitation, using and managing, adjusting and changing policies and laws related to water resources.

  • Water is one of the most essential commodities for mankind and the largest available source of fresh water lays underground. Tremendous increase in the agricultural, industrial and domestic activities in recent years has increased the demand for good quality water to meet the growing needs. Groundwater is mostly preferred to meet this growing demand because of its lower level of contamination and wider distribution. The occurrence of groundwater is a consequence of the interaction of the climatic, geological, hydrological and physiographical factors.
