In this study, perovskite BaTiO3 and SrTiO3 catalysts were prepared using the sol-gel method for oxidative coupling of methane (OCM). Characterization of catalysts was investigated by X-ray diffraction for crystal properties, physical N2 adsorption to determine specific surface area, and temperatureprogrammed techniques to examine the redox properties and acid–base strength.

Porous carbon material is one of the most common and very important for various applications thank to its high surface area and adsorption capability. In this study, mesoporous carbon was prepared by thermal decomposition of copper-based metal-organic framework MOF-199 under inert atmosphere and followed by immersing in diluted HNO3 solution in order to remove metal/metal oxide and activation of the resultant porous carbon.

In this research, we focus on enhancing the BET surface area of the photocatalytic process. The combination of SiO2 with TiO2 in TiO2-SiO2 photocatalyst make the photocatalyst achieved large specific surface area a factor effect directly to adsorption, which is the first step of photocatalytic process.

For the first time, the expansion grade of graphite was studied through the effect of the flake size. The result shown the larger flake size exhibits a higher expansion grade. In addition, the more expanded material, the higher specific surface area can be obtained. The synthesized expanded graphites were used for the adsorption of methylene blue.

The higher catalytic performance of CuMnOx than MnO2, CuO because of its higher specific surface area and its lower reduction temperature. The results also implied that the interaction between Cu and Mn could improve the reduction capacity of CuMnOx catalyst. In summary, the CuMnOx catalyst is a promising catalyst for toluene treatment.

Zeolite Socony Mobil-5 (ZSM-5) was successfully synthesized by a hydrothermal method from the silicon dioxide (SiO2) precursor prepared fro m rice husk ash. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles were decorated on ZSM-5 substrate by a sol-gel method. ZSM-5/TiO2 materials were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis.

A series of Mg-Cu-Al hydrotalcite/chitosan materials have been synthesized via a co-precipitation method, in which chitosan is synthesized from chitin extraction from waste shrimp shells. The obtained solids were characterized by XRD, BET, EDX, IR techniques. The materials have a well crystallized hydrotalcite structure and medium surface area.

In this study, a CuZnO2/MSU photocatalyst was developed using a simple method and common resources. Characterization through XRD, BET, EDX, TEM, and SEM techniques revealed its worm-hole structure and uniform CuZnO2 distribution. The catalyst exhibited a reduced band gap of 2.4 eV and a substantial surface area of 307 m²/g, facilitating 94% degradation of Ciprofloxacin (CIP) within 4 hours of light exposure.

The study results show inter-relationships and transformations of the three indicators in the research context, where urban land temperature and Urban Heat Island (UHI) are raised by built-up areas and in contrast, reduced by vegetated areas. As a result, urban green space would be a driver to mitigate the harmful impact of the "heat island" effect in urban areas. The aim of the work "Activated carbon derived from rice husk by NaOH activation and its application in supercapacitor" is to prepare a low-cost, high specific surface area activated carbon with microporous and mesoporous ranges using rice husk as the raw material. The effects of activation temperature on the specific surface area, pore structure, morphology and thermal stability of the AC samples have been examined. The AC samples were proved to be excellent electrode material for supercapacitor, hence solve the disposal and pollution problems of rice husk.
