Available evidence demonstrates that team-based learning (TBL) enhances teacher-learner interactions, solves cognitive gaps, connects concepts, and builds critical thinking. Nowadays, TBL has become a popular approach in undergraduate training (UGT). Surprisingly, only a few institutions implemented TBL into their post-graduate training (PGT) programs.

The purpose of this thesis is to explore how metaphor-based interactions can enhance the behavioural interactions in project environments to deliver better outcomes. It documents the processes and findings from an action research program to investigate the impact of combining metaphor, conversation and reflective practice techniques into a new model, the Reflective Performance Cycle (RPC) to stimulate richer and more productive interactions between project team members.

This paper studies a solution to build a hand tracking and gesture recognition system that allows cursor movement and corresponding actions with mouse and keyboard. The research team confirms that the system works stably, accurately and can control the computer instead of a conventional mouse and keyboard through the implementation and evaluation.

The study examines two dimensions that impact virtual team decision making. One is the influence of collaboration process structure: the sequences, patterns, and routines participants use to interact and solve problems. The other is technology affordance: the strengths and weaknesses of technologies in terms of the usefulness they offer to teams when performing tasks. Some teams used a structured collaboration process with monitoring, coordination, and backup functions during a decision-making discussion. Other teams had no discussion process instructions.

The current affordances of ubiquitous global connections, of a large number of open resources, and of social and professional networks may boost innovation in open-minded organisations through their personnel’s empowerment. Lifelong and ubiquitous learning, cloud computing and smart working frameworks are the pillars of the change that is replacing the traditional work model and transforming the way crowds of people communicate, collaborate, teamwork, produce value and growth for the entities of which they are part. All this directly involves the smart city concept.

Knowledge convergence among pre-service mathematics teachers through online reciprocal peer feedback
This research focused on pre-service mathematics teachers’ sharing of knowledge through reciprocal peer feedback. In this study, pre-service teachers were divided into groups of five and engaged in an online reciprocal peer feedback activity. Specifically, after creating an individual concept map indicating high school students’ possible solutions to an algebra problem, preservice teachers shared their individual maps with team members and engaged in online discussion, commenting on the concept maps of other group members and responding to peers’ feedback.

The purpose of this study was to identify whether social presence relates to knowledge sharing in virtual learning teams in distance education. The participants in the study were 1355 students engaged in distance education programs. Both split sample and the total sample were used for different analyses. The findings of the study confirmed social presence as a twodimensional construct, which involves interactive responses and cohesiveaffective responses. Only interactive responses were found to relate to knowledge sharing.

Media skills play an increasingly important role in the gathering and sharing of ideas and information. At the core of media mastery are the same fundamental capacities as are required “offline” in traditional print forms: an ability to produce clear communications and an ability to access, understand, and evaluate complex materials and messages. Media mastery also calls upon some skills unique to the online environment, ranging from being able to conduct digital-based research to exchanging and debating ideas in online discussions to interacting with new text forms.

I will address the questions posed to the panel from wlthln the context of a project at SRI, TEAM [Grosz, 1982b], that is developing techniques for transportable natural-language interfaces. The goal of transportability is to enable nonspeciallsts to adapt a natural-language processing system for access to an existing conventional database. TEAM is designed to interact with two different kinds of users.

We briefly describe a two-way speech-tospeech English-Farsi translation system prototype developed for use in doctorpatient interactions. The overarching philosophy of the developers has been to create a system that enables effective communication, rather than focusing on maximizing component-level performance. The discussion focuses on the general approach and evaluation of the system by an independent government evaluation team.
