The diversity indices (d, H', J') of lichens have a less close linear relationship with the AQI_SO2 index as shown by the low correlation coefficient. This result shows that lichen biodiversity indices may have a nonlinear relationship with the AQI_SO2 index. These data are considered the scientific basis of research on using lichens as biological indicators of the air environment, specifically indicators of SO2 content in the air in some provinces/cities in Northern of Vietnam.

This study highlights 3 major findings. First, metacognition processes do not merely mean “cognition about cognition”. Second, while previous studies tended to portray metacognition as a whole, it is argued in this study that it is constituted by two main clusters (knowledge of cognition and regulation of cognition) which can be further specified into eight sub-components. Third, there seem to be some sub-linearities that underpin students’ metacognition and that influence their uses of reading strategies.

Previous studies examining the relationship of foreign investors and form performance produced inconclusive finding. These studies assumed that a linear relation exists between foreign shareholdings and firm performances. This study examines the relationship between foreign ownership and firm performance of trading and services listed firms in Malaysia. The research utilizes the agency theory and uses ROA and Tobin’s Q as the firm performance indicator. Foreign shareholdings had been identified as the predictor variables and firm size and leverage are the controlled variables.

A new technique for sensing Ga(III) concentration based on polyvinyl alcohol-citrate capped gold nanoparticle–p-aminohippuric acid hybrid (or three-layer core-shell configurations) has been demonstrated. The p-aminohippuric acid capped citrate-gold nanoparticles were comfortably agglomerated in the presence of Ga(III), and the color of the reaction quickly turned from red to violet or blue. Under the detection conditions, a good linear relationship was ideally obtained between the ratio of the absorbance intensity at 620 nm to that at 520 nm (A620/A520).

The study examines the asymmetric effect of oil price on the exchange rate and stock price using the nonlinear autoregressive distributive lag (NARDL) technique on the time-series data spanning from January 1996 to September 2020. The multivariate cointegration test showed evidence of a longrun relationship among the stock price, exchange rate, and oil price. The linear Granger causality test showed that stock price is granger caused by oil price and exchange rate, and oil price is granger cause by stock price and exchange rate.

The paper examines the impact of capital structure in the context of foreign ownership on firm performance on non-financial companies in Vietnam between 2008 and 2018. The study employs Pooled OLS, Fixed effect, random effect, and Generalized Least Square to analyze the data. The study finds a non-linear relationship of foreign ownership and firm performance, so that the relationship, which is at first a positive one, becomes negative beyond a certain level of foreign ownership (30-45% ownership depending on the measure of performance).

Memristor is a non-linear circuit element in which voltage-current relationship is determined by the previous values of the voltage and current, generally the history of the circuit. The nonlinearity in this component can be considered as a fractional-order form, which yields a fractional memristor (fracmemristor). In this paper, a fractional-order memristor in a chaotic oscillator is applied, while the other electronic elements are of integer order. The fractional-order range is determined in a way that the circuit has chaotic solutions.

The study finds a cointegrating relationship between the variables. The study argues that the country is not experiencing the phenomenon of resource curse as oil rents are not negatively impacting economic growth in the long run. Using non linear ARDL method the study reports a higher rate of growth to a positive shock in oil rents as compare to negative shocks in oil rents. This hints at the resilience of the country as the country’s growth rate is less effected with the fall in oil rents. It is also assumed that mere rent seeking economies tend to have poor quality of institutions.

Due to the increasing popularity of gold as an investment the demand for effective risk management techniques for gold investments has increased as well. In this paper we analyze several drivers of the price of gold that have been proposed in the past. Our analysis indicates that short-term volatility of the price of gold remains rather unpredictable with many of the explanations like the fund flows in physical gold ETF either unreliable or unstable over time.

Surajpur Lake is a prominent wetland site in National Capital Region, India, known for its rich avifaunal and aquatic biodiversity. The present study was carried out to analyse water quality and to check the relationship among various physicochemical parameters in both temporal and spatial scales from March 2012 to February 2013. The water samples were collected from five different locations on monthly basis. Standard methods were followed for the collection, sampling and analysis for 12 physicochemical parameters. The data were analyzed using PAST (version 2.15) software.
