  • The linear buckling behavior of functionally graded toroidal shell segments with corrugated core under axial compression using the first-order shear deformation theory is presented in this paper. The homogeneous technique is applied for shear deformable corrugated core. Approximate analytical solutions are assumed to satisfy the simply supported boundary conditions and the adjacent equilibrium criterion is applied to obtain closed-form relations of buckling loads.

  • Ebook "Quantum computational chemistry: Modelling and calculation for functional materials" is for both theoretical and experimental chemists to begin quantum molecular orbital calculations for functional materials. First, the theoretical background including the molecular orbital calculation method and modelling are explained. This is followed by an explanation of how to do modelling and calculation and to interpret calculated molecular orbitals, with many research examples in the field of batteries, catalysts, organic molecules and biomolecules.

  • Ebook "Digital simulation in electrochemistry (Fourth edition)" explains how the partial differential equations (pdes) in electroanalytical chemistry can be solved numerically. It guides the reader through the topic in a very didactic way, by first introducing and discussing the basic equations along with some model systems as test cases systematically. Then it outlines basic numerical approximations for derivatives and techniques for the numerical solution of ordinary differential equations. Finally, more complicated methods for approaching the pdes are derived.

  • Ebook "Density functionals: Thermochemistry" aims to reflect the current state of density-functional thermochemistry. It presents highlights of ongoing research at the frontiers of DFT and discusses the outstanding problems of delocalization error and strong correlation. The first few chapters give overviews of density-functional approximations as they currently stand and push the boundaries of their applicability to increasingly complex systems, consisting of very large molecules.

  • This paper proposes a simple current balancing method among phases for three-phase Dual-Active-Bridge converters due to inductance mismatch in the transmission path. The method is based on first harmonic approximation and trigonometric calculation of the phase shift for each phase. Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method can help balance the phase current effectively

  • In paper "Mixture of Erlang and exponential approximation for ultimate ruin probability", we investigate the mixture of Erlang and exponential approximation based on the first three moments and the matrix-exponential representation of mixed Erlang and exponential functions. Besides, a number of numerical examples are given to illustrate the quick convergence of the method in the cases of the first three moments of uniform distribution on . Moreover to illustrate this method, a numerical example is given with different initial reserves of insurance company.

  • Spontaneous triploidy has been reported in a number of fish species, and is often linked with in vivo or in vitro ageing of eggs post ovulation. Here, we provide the first investigation into the frequency of spontaneous triploidy in farmed Atlantic salmon by analysing more than 4000 fish from 55 farms, and approximately 1000 recaptured escapees, all sampled in the period 2007–2014.

  • In this study, quaternary Ag2 MnSnS4 nanocrystalline rods have been successfully synthesized for the first time by the colloidal hot-injection synthesis route and well-organized rod-like nanocrystals (NCs) with lengths ranging from 200 to 350 nm and widths from 10 to 30 nm were obtained. For this structure, the Ag2 MnSnS4 exhibits a semiconductor property with a band-gap of approximately 1.3 eV.

  • The proposal presents the design of a voltage con-troller for a three-phase inverter. At first, the state-space model of the inverter with uncertainties and system pa-rameters variation taken into account is constructed. The proposed controller combines a feedback component and a disturbance compensator. The first one is accomplished using LQR control law which can be approximated by reinforcement learning algorithm.

  • Approximately 90 haemoglobinopathies have been identified that result in abnormally high oxygen affinity. One of these is haemoglobinopathy York (HbY), first described in 1976. HbY causes an extreme leftward shift of the oxygen dissociation curve with the P50 value changing to 12.5 - 15.5 mmHg (normal value 26.7 mmHg), indicating that approximately half of the haemoglobin is not available as oxygen carrier.

Flyingfish eggs were randomly obtained on 16 July 2016 on the coast of Gümüldür, at a depth of approximately 1 m from a sandy bottom. Samples were fixed in a 4% buffered formaldehyde solution. The eggs were described and illustrated. The diameters of spherical fish eggs were between 1.75 mm and 2.05 mm. They have bipolar filaments: a single filament on one pole and 28–33 filaments on the other pole.

  • Genus Terellia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 includes approximately 60 species throughout the Palearctic region. Larvae of Terellia develop in the flowerheads of the family Asteraceae. In this study, the authors collected species of Terellia from possible host plants in the summer of 2009 and 2017 in northeastern Turkey using an insect net. Collected materials were pinned and deposited in the Gaziantep University Entomology Laboratory. Upon identification, Terellia (Cerajocera) akguli sp. nov. has been described as a new species and placed in the subgenus Cerajocera. Also, T. (C.

It was recorded in a Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) forest at 2340 m above sea level with extensive snow cover. Given that the nearest known population is in the forests of Georgia approximately 105 km away, there may already be a viable population in Turkey.
