The sequence of integers

The gene encoding an integrase of Mason–Pfizer monkey virus (M-PMV) is located at the 3¢-end of the pol open reading frame. The M-PMV integ-rase has not been previously isolated and characterized. We have now cloned, expressed, isolated, and characterized M-PMV integrase and com-pared its activities and primary structure with those of HIV-1 and other retroviral integrases. M-PMV integrase prefers untranslated 3¢-region-derived long-terminal repeat sequences in both the 3¢-processing and the strand transfer activity assays.

In 1991, David Gale and Raphael Robinson, building on explorations carried out by Michael Somos in the 1980s, introduced a three-parameter family of rational recurrence relations, each of which (with suitable initial conditions) appeared to give rise to a sequence of integers, even though a priori the recurrence might produce non-integral rational numbers. Throughout the '90s, proofs of integrality were known only for individual special cases. In the early '00s, Sergey Fomin and Andrei Zelevinsky proved Gale and Robinson's integrality conjecture.

We gave a new criterion for graphical partitions. We derive a new recursion formula, which allows the computation of the number g(n) of graphical partitions of weight n for up to n 900.A partition of weight n is a nonincreasing sequence of nonnegative integers (1, 2, . . . , k, . . .) whose sum is n. The weight is denoted by ||. The number of nonzero elements in the sequence is the length of the partition denoted by l(). The set of all partitions of weight n is denoted by P(n).
