The Southwestern provinces

Achillea alimeana Semiz & Uysal sp. nov. of sect. Santolinoidea DC. (Asteraceae), was described, diagnosed and illustrated as a new species. It was collected from Akdağ Mountains in Denizli Province. In this paper, the diagnostic characters of A. alimeana and its similar species were discussed in the morphological, palynological and molecular findings. As regards the new species, some notes on the ecology, conservation status, and distribution were submitted. A diagnostic key was given for related taxa.

Zercon ostovani sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on female specimens collected from Eram Botanical Garden in Fars Province, southwestern Iran. The similarities and differences between related species within the same genus are also discussed. Members of the family Zerconidae are poorly known in Iran (Nemati et al., 2018). Systematically, some mesostigmatic mite families (e.g., Ameroseiidae, Ascidae, Laelapidae, Macrochelidae, Parasitidae, and Phytoseiidae) have been extensively studied in Iran (Kamali et al., 2001).

This study aimed to present the performance of the National Cancer Network’s (NCN) pilot program in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship (southwestern province of Poland with a population of 2,9 million in 2019), to analyse measures describing lung cancer patients and to determine whether those measures can be used to improve the treatment outcomes of stage III and IV patients with lung cancer in Poland.

The region of the Southwestern provinces is one of the areas where the crime situation in general and the situation of human health infringement (HHI) in particular are having extremely complicated developments. Although legal protection agencies have made great efforts on crime prevention, the results of crime prevention in general and HHI in particular are still limited compared to the requirements set out.
