  • In this work, we perform streaming potential measurements for consolidated rocks saturated by three divalent electrolytes at different electrolyte concentrations. From the measured streaming potential, we obtain an empirical relation between the streaming potential coefficient and the electrolyte concentration for divalent electrolytes that is not yet available in published work. It is seen that the obtained expression has a similar form to those reported in literature for monovalent electrolytes.

  • In this paper, we report on biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Gracilaria corticata (Red seaweed) at room temperature along with photo-catalytic degradation of Malachite green dye. UV spectral analysis showed peak at 380 nm with special reference to the excitation of surfaces plasmon vibration by silver nanoparticles. The morphology of silver nanoparticles was found to be spherical and ranges about 100 nm as confirmed by HR-SEM. Positive zeta potential value of 7.7mV suggests that the nanoparticles are moderately stable in colloidal solution.

  • Curcumin modified graphene oxide (GO-CR) was prepared using the adsorption method and polyurethane (PU) coating containing 0.3 wt% GO-CR was prepared on carbon steel. Synthesized GO-CR was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and zeta potential measurement. Corrosion protection property of polyurethane coating containing GO-CR was evaluated and compared with that of blank polyurethane coating and coating containing GO by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.

  • In the current study, we present our results on the preparation of porous CNTs-ferrite hybrid materials as electrodes for supercapacitors by using room-temperature freeze gelation method (RTFG). The materials were investigated by various techniques, including FTIR, zeta potential, BET and Cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements.

  • Because it is both biocompatible and biodegradable, chitosan has been used to provide a protective capsule in new drug formulations. The present work reports on investigations into some of the physicochemical properties of chitosan-coated liposomes, including drug release rate, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), zeta potential and turbidity measurement. It was found that chitosan increases liposome stability during drug release. The coating of DPPC liposomes with a chitosan layer was confirmed by electron microscopy and the zeta potential of liposomes.

  • In this work, the fractal model for the streaming potential coefficient in porous media recently published has been examined by calculating the zeta potential from the measured streaming potential coefficient. Obtained values of the zeta potential are then compared with experimental data.

  • The obtained expression for group 2 is in good agreement with those available in literature. From the experimental data in combination with a theoretical model, the binding constants for Na+ and K+ cations are obtained for the samples of group 2 and they are in the same range reported in literature for silica-based samples.

  • The measurements of the zeta potential of five consolidated samples including natural and artificial ceramic rocks saturated with 5.0×10-3 M NaCl electrolyte at different temperatures have been reported. The zeta potential obtained in this work is always negative and increases in magnitude with increasing temperature for all samples (an average increase of the zeta potential of 0.4 mV/ oC in magnitude).

  • In this work, the measurements of the streaming potential for four unconsolidated samples (sandpacks) saturated with four monovalent electrolytes at six different electrolyte concentrations have been performed. From the measured streaming potential coefficient, the empirical expression between the streaming potential coefficient and electrolyte concentration is obtained.
