Thermal spray-applied AlMg alloy coatings are frequently utilized in a variety of technical applications because of great corrosion resistance, and environmental friendliness. In this work, the effect of abrasive spraying parameters on the surface roughness of CT3 steel specimens as well as the effect of the surface roughness on the adhesion strength of Al-Mg alloy spray coating were experimentally investigated.

In this work, we characterize the hollow hematite (a-Fe2O3) micro spheres obtained by two non-template techniques: Sol gel and, spray roasting process. Both techniques allow the production of high yield hollow hematite spheres up to 100 g for the case of sol gel and up to 500 kg for the case of spray roaster process.

This work aimed at improving the solubility of curcumin by the preparation of spray-dried ternary solid dispersions containing Gelucire®50/13-Aerosil® and quantifying the resulting in vivo oral bioavailability and anti-inflammatory activity. The solid dispersion containing 40% of curcumin was characterised by calorimetry, infrared spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction. The solubility and dissolution rate of curcumin in aqueous HCl or phosphate buffer improved up to 3600- and 7.3-fold, respectively.

Ilex paraguariensis pellets from a spray-dried extract: Development, characterization, and stability
Several studies have shown the potential use of Ilex paraguariensis in developing products with the aim to protect biological systems against oxidative stress-mediated damages. In the same way, technological studies have demonstrated the feasibility of obtaining dry products, by spray-drying process, from aqueous extracts of I. paraguariensis in laboratory. The present work was designed to develop pellets by extrusion/spheronization process, from an I. paraguariensis spray-dried powder.

In this study, high temperature oxidation-resistant NiCr/Al duplex coatings on carbon steel substrate have been fabricated by electrical wire arc-spraying process. The oxidation resistance properties of NiCr/Al duplex coating system have been evaluated at 800 °C during retention times of 1.5, 3.0, 4.5 and 6.0 hours. The morphology and chemical composition of their cross-sectional structures were investigated using scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS).

Thermal cycling tests showed that the adhesion of the TiC, ZrC, and ZrO2 coating layers with niobium was relatively weak compared to the TaC and Y2O3 coatings. The TaC and Y2O3 coatings had better cycling characteristics with no interconnected cracks. In the interaction studies, ZrC and ZrO2 coated rods showed significant degradations after exposure to U-10 wt.% Zr melt at 1600ºC for 15 min., but TaC, TiC, and Y2O3 coatings showed good compatibility with U-Zr melt.

Spirax Sarco recirculating feedwater spray systems type RFS are designed to provide additional flash steam condensing capacity on boiler feedtank applications. When the condensate return flowrate is high and the cold make-up flowrate is intermittent it is likely that valuable flash steam will be lost through the vent. To ensure that this flash steam is condensed it is often worthwhile to take feedwater from a relatively cool part of the feedtank and pump it to a spray nozzle.
