Three phase three dimensional flow

In this paper, recent advances in the CUPID code are presented in three sections. First, the domain decomposition parallel method implemented in the CUPID code is described with the parallel efficiency test for multiple processors. Then, the coupling of CUPID-MARS via heat structure is introduced, where CUPID has been coupled with a system-scale thermal-hydraulics code, MARS, through the heat structure. The coupled code has been applied to a multi-scale thermal-hydraulic analysis of a pool mixing test. Finally, CUPID-SG is developed for analyzing two-phase flows in PWR steam generators.

The paper presents the results of simulation and study of mixture - oil, gas and water - flows in porous medium using three-phase, three dimensional "Black oil" model. For discretizing the system of mathematical equations, the finite volume difference method was used. To solve numerically the system of discretized equations the IMPES and iterative methods were chosen.

The paper presents a numerical method to simulate two-phase turbulent cavitating flows in ducts of varying cross-section usually faced in engineering. The method is based on solution of two-phase Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations of two-phase mixture. The numerical method uses artificial compressibility algorithm extended to unsteady flows with dual-time technique.

An effective separation method of very pure binder fraction to assess radiocarbon dating is proposed in the present contribution. The elimination of contaminant error sources and the suitable selection of mortar samples enable the reliable dating. Petrographic analysis under polarizing light microscopy is used to identify different mineralogical phases of mortar samples, aggregate nature, and the limestone fragment remains.
