The use of nanoparticles (NPs) has increased in recent years and consequently they are being released into the environment. The final destination of most NPs is the aquatic environment due to washing up by rain waters. Fish (n = 120) were exposed to different concentrations (0, 1, 5, and 25 mg/L) of aluminum-oxide (Al2O3), copper-oxide (CuO), and titanium-dioxide (TiO2) NPs for 14 days and 14 days of depuration period (no NP in water). Following NP exposures, activities of Na,K-ATPase, Mg-ATPase, Ca-ATPase, and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in the brain and muscle were measured.

The present investigation was carried out at Tissue Culture Laboratory of S.K.N. Agriculture University, Jobner, India during 2018-19. The present investigation aimed at evaluating the seasonality of macro-nutrients contents of pear trees during the agriculture year 2007. Therefore, leaf samples were collected at fortnightly intervals form 1st may to 1st October and evaluated for nutrients. In general concentration of N, P,K decreased and those of Ca, Mg, Fe, and Mn content increased from first to last sampling date while as no conspicuous trend was observed in Cu content of leaves. The distinct period of stability for N, Mg, Mn and Zn contents occurred from July 15- August 15.

A Gaussian mixture model (GMM)-based classification technique is employed for a quantitative global assessment of brain tissue changes by using pixel intensities and contrast generated by b-values in diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). A hemisphere approach is also proposed. A GMM identifies the variability in the main brain tissues at a macroscopic scale rather than searching for tumours or affected areas. The asymmetries of the mixture distributions between the hemispheres could be used as a sensitive, faster tool for early diagnosis.

Palytoxin stimulated a cation-dependent short-circuit cur-rent (Isc) in rat distal and proximal colon in a concen-tration-dependent fashion when applied to the mucosal surface of the tissue. The distal colon exhibited a higher sensitivity to the toxin. The palytoxin-induced Isc was blocked by vanadate but was resistant to ouabain or scilliroside, suggesting the conversion of a vanadate-sen-sitive H + /K + -ATPase into an electrogenic cation trans-porter.

A ‘textbook’ plant typically comprises about 85% water and 13.5% carbohy- drates. The remaining fraction contains at least 14 mineral elements, without which plants would be unable to complete their life cycles. These essential mineral elements include six macronutrients – N, K, P, S, Mg and Ca – which are present in relatively large amounts in plant tissues (mg g−1 of dry tissue), and several micronutrients, including Fe and Zn, which are present in smaller amounts (µg g−1 of dry tissue).

In routine histopathology, most tissues are fixed in formalin and embedded in paraffin for long-term preservation. DNA can be extracted from these tissues for subsequent molecular analysis by amplification methods. The algorithm of K-means clustering was employed to mainly classify the results of region segmentation in the previous stage. The brain MR images were classified into three categories, respectively GM, WM, and CSF. Because there were many fragmentary regions, it was necessary to classify all the regions, in which all the regions were divided into three categories, it was assumed that K=3, and the region was regarded as a unit to conduct the algorithm of K-means clustering.
