Big Data has become a tool to help accountants practice their careers with a more effective approach than the traditional tools. It has also created challenges for accountants with data asset valuation. This study also points out that accounting and auditing students should have big data knowledge and data analytic skills. Hence Big Data topics should be embedded in existing courses across accounting curricula and Vietnamese universities need to change their educational programs in order to adapt the employers’ demand.

This paper will explore the use of Novakian concept mapping as a means of visualising and tracing the range of emotions inherent within any teaching experience. It will focus in particular on its use within higher education, where the presence of emotion has traditionally been disregarded or seemingly suppressed. The example of undergraduate teaching of the law degree will be used as an area where the role of emotion is particularly undertheorised.

The analysis gave rise to a robust and parsimonious model of social network usage behavior that confirmed the proposed research hypotheses. The findings demonstrated that the extended TAM model is suitable for explaining the acceptance of web-based teaching tools as well as the validity of microblogging networks in combination with traditional classes.

The project is of two year’s duration and is supported by the Leonardo programme, an EU education programme. The project is a cooperation between France, Spain, Estonia, the UK and Denmark. The aim of the project is to make teaching with animation an integrated part of the European school system along with the more traditional ways of teaching. The inclusion of animation will provide more variety in the teaching methods and in that way promote different types of learning.

Some 20 years ago, after years of teaching corporate finance and writing related textbooks and casebooks, I began teaching healthcare financial management in the University of Florida’s Master of Health Administration (MHA) program. The move prompted me to write my first healthcare finance textbook, Understanding Health Care Financial Management. The book was designed for use in health services administration financial management courses in which students had prerequisite courses in both accounting and corporate finance.

In our recent book, Free Cash Flow and Shareholder Yield: New Priorities for the Global Investor (John Wiley & Sons, 2007), we offered a comprehensive introduction to the opportunities and challenges inherent in today’s equity markets. By looking beyond the many obfuscations of traditional generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) accounting, we endeavored to provide the informed investor with the tools necessary to navigate a changing investment landscape.

The recent wide diffusion of (i) easy-to-use software tools for the implementation of Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs); and (ii) communication-oriented instrumentation, often provided with Ethernet interface, in addition to the more traditional GPIB and RS-232 ones, can be particularly exploited in the field of measurement teaching. It is well known, in fact, that for a better understanding of the teaching issues in such a field, the students have to practice with real instrumentation. The computer-based simulations are often inadequate to assure a good experience in that direction.
