This study aimed to analyze the current situation of vocational training for farmers and farmers’ needs for vocational training in the next years in extremely isolated communities. The primary data were collected from 480 farmers in 16 communes.

The concept of vocational training in agriculture through KVK grew substantially due to greater demand for improved agricultural technology by the farmers. The study was carried out in Tlangnuam block of Aizawl District of Mizoram. The Tlangnuam block was purposively selected because of large number of farmers’ participation in KVK’s training programme. For the selection of respondents, a list of ginger trainees of KVK during preceding three years (2016-17 to 2018-19) was prepared. Out of 210 trainees list, only 60 farmers were randomly selected from KVK adopted villages of Tlangnuam block.

The study conclude that majority of the respondents belonged to young age group and had high school level of education. Majority of the respondents had pucca house with land holding up to 1 ha. And high level of farming experience. Majority of the respondents had low family annual income. Majority of the respondents had medium extension participation, scientific orientation and innovativeness with medium risk orientation towards Sardar Smruti Kendra.

The present study was conducted on randomly selected 240 dairy farmers from Punjab contacted at various Kissan melas, Trainings, KVKs and seminars. 129 dairy farmers who were preparing self-made feed were selected as final respondents. The farmers were asked to rank reasons for likings of self-made feed and disliking of branded feed from 1st rank to 8 th rank according to Garret’s ranking technique on pre-selected reasons, which were compiled after scrutinizing relevant literature, consulting subject matter specialist and progressive farmers.

Azolla is a free floating, rapidly growing aquatic fern on water surface. It has enormous potential as a livestock feed due to its high content of protein, essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals. The scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, West Sikkim introduced azolla cultivation in the district by demonstration conducted at farmers’ field. The farmers were trend by on and off campus practical training cum demonstration on azolla production technology.

The study was conducted in Hassan District where Vocational training programmes on Integrated Crop Management (ICM) in Coconut and use of coconut tree climbing machine were conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kandali, Hassan. These programmes were evaluated to assess their impact on the knowledge and extent of adoption of improved cultivation practices of coconut by the trainees. Longleng district falls under the subtropical hill zone of Eastern Nagaland. Agriculture is the main stay of the people, in which Low land (Pani Kheti) is one of them for their livelihood. Farmers of the district practiced traditional rice cultivation with low yield after maximum inputs due to lack of knowledge of improved cultivation practices. Therefore, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) took initiative to replace the farmers’ practices through disseminations of improved technology for enhancing the productivity and income.

Dystocia or difficulty in parturition in a doe may need veterinary assistance for the successful parturition. An adult crossbred Jamunapari doe weighing 60 kg was presented to Farmers Training Centre, Theni with the history of difficulty in giving birth and animal straining continuously. Fetus tail was observed as protruding out from vulva. Through physical evaluation of the doe by per vaginal examination, the condition was diagnosed as fetal dystocia.

The research study was conducted in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan and Dhanbaad districts of Jharkhand state with sample size of 60 respondents. Study revealed that 40.00 per cent of respondents of KVK Chittorgarh belonged to medium knowledge level category with respect to vegetable cultivation practices, whereas 46.67 per cent of respondents of KVK Dhanbaad were belonged to low knowledge level category.

In India, still farmers face several constraints in practicing organic farming like Inadequate availability of organic inputs, scarcity of irrigation storage structures, lack of quality training on organic farming, lack of technical guidance on organic farming, Non-availability of readymade organic inputs formulation, lack of control measures for pest and disease, less number of technologies in organic farming practices (Sivaraj et al., 2017). Based on this background the present study was conducted among 180 certified organic farmers in krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.
