Transient heat conduction equation

An analytical and numerical solution is developed for a transient heat conduction equation in which a plane slab is heated by a bimodal distribution beam over the upper surface. In laser heat treatment of steel few methods are used to produce a wider and nearly uniform average irradiance profile.

The studies mentioned above are more complicated to apply due to using many parameters and equations. The aim of this work is to propose a simple model based on the slowthermal conductivity of a spherical particle with appropriate assumptions and conditions to determine the height of the prilling tower.

This paper describes the one-dimensional, transient heat conduction in a rectangular piece of Pyinkado (Xylia xylocarpa) with cross grain and in an orthotropic wooden cylinder. Computerized solutions of a generalized, nonlinear heat equation are derived by discretizing the time domain using finite element techniques.
