Spatial patterns of forest trees have been long recognized as evidences of underlying biological processes within forests. We used point pattern analysis methods and process-based models to detect the demography and dynamics of trees in a primary rainforest stand. A fully mapped 1-ha plot was investigated in the tropical rain forest of Cuc Phuong National Park. Trees were stem-mapped, diameter-measured at breast height and classified into species.

Tree stump diameter plays a big role in forest resource management. The study used data from 23 plots. The results showed that the acacia community was classified into 2 clusters. The stump diameter mean of cluster 1 is larger than cluster 2. The stump diameter frequency distribution of cluster 1 was more right-skewed.

The study was conducted to determine the above and below ground biomass of Acacia hybrid (Acacia auriculiformis*Acacia mangium) of different diameter classes at La Nga Forestry Company Limited in Dong Nai. A typical standard tree survey method was used to measure fresh biomass, the study cut down 45 trees of different ages and diameters for measuring the fresh biomass with 4 parts including trunk, branches, leaves (above-ground biomass), and roots (below-ground biomass).

Sequence data used in reconstructing phylogenetic trees may include various sources of error. Typically errors are detected at the sequence level, but when missed, the erroneous sequences often appear as unexpectedly long branches in the inferred phylogeny.

Aiming to describe spatial patterns, species mingling and dominance of species at fine spatial scales, we applied the quantitative analyses based on relationships of nearest neighboring trees. In two 1- ha plot of tropical evergreen forest stands in Babe National park, northern Vietnam, all tree individuals with diameter at breast height-DBH ≥ 2.5 cm were mapped and their characteristics (i.e., DBH and species) were recorded.

The results of the present investigation indicated that, different pruning treatments and fertilizer levels produced significant effect on growth and yield attributes of guava. The treatment of 45 cm of past season’s growth with application of fertilizer levels of 125% RDF (1000:500:500 g NPK/tree) recorded the significant effect on the growth parameter like plant height, shoot length, shoot diameter and number of leaves per shoot and produced maximum values of all these growth parameters with minimum days of flowering and fruit set. The maximum yield (60.41 kg/tree and 16.79 t/ha.

The practice continues in the Himalayan regions of the sub-continent. Elms grow fast and regenerate rapidly by seed, are resistant to pruning and root damage and adapt exceptionally well to unfavorable environmental conditions prevalent in the region. However, little information is available on the nutrient composition and nutritive value of Elm leaves as animal feed in the temperate regions of the country particularly in Kashmir.

An attempt was made to construct one way and two way volume tables for Abies pindrow in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh during the year 2016-17. For the study, primary data for diameter and height was collected. 100 trees of Abies pindrow (fir) were recorded from Shimla forest site and volume was collected from the State Forest Department.

A field trail in a complete Randomized Design was conducted at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal during 2010-2011 to assess the growth, flowering, fruiting, yield and quality of tamarind of five varieties namely PKM-1, Urigam, Vantoor, Red and Sweet. The results indicated superiority of variety PKM-1 with plant height (445.33- 569 cm), East-west canopy expansion (458.67- 604.00 cm), number of fruit retention panicle-1 (44.33%), TSS (480 Brix), total sugar (40.33 g) with lower acidity (6.7 mg).

Pine trees are evergreen growing at average height of 15-45 m with a diameter of up to 1.2 m. Pine needle are better known as Peerul in Uttrakhand. Pine needles, are adult leaves, which are green bundled in clusters with diameter of 1.5 mm and up to 20 cm length. Total pine needles available in India are 2.7 million tonnes per year (Pandey et al., 2011).

The experiment was conducted in Division of Agroforestry, Sher-e-kashmir University of Agricultural sciences and Technology of Jammu, Chatha, during the year 2017. Mature fruits were collected from randomly selected four trees and were graded into small (S), medium (M) and large size (L) on the basis of diameter. The fruit subjected to four presowing treatments were sown in polythene bags with potting mixture consisting of soil, sand vermicompost and FYM in (1:1:1:1) ratio.

Pruning of guava cv. Allahabad Safeda under high density planting was done in the third week of June, 2013 with three pruning intensities i.e. leaving 10 cm, 20 cm and 30 cm from base of the shoot and retaining 30, 40 and 50 fruits per tree. Ten centimeter (10 cm) pruning intensity has advanced the vegetative bud appearance, maximum fruit diameter at harvest, average fruit weight and fruit yield.

Marssonina leaf blotch caused by the fungus Marssonina coronaria (Ellis & J.J. Davis) J.J. Davis causing premature leaf fall is one of the major economic constraint which hampers apple production in India. Seven isolates of Marssonina coronaria were isolated and evaluated for their morphological and molecular characterization using ITS primers. All the seven isolates were identified based on the morphological characteristics, and produced brown to black colonies without aerial mycelium, formed a wrinkled surface, on PDA after incubation for 30 days.

A field trial was conducted to standardize water and nutrient requirement for raising tree species in High Density Plantation and to study the impact of balanced fertilization on growth and physiology of tree species. The experiment was laid out in split plot design comprised of main plot with irrigation treatment and sub plot with fertilizer levels. Water requirement of the tree plantation was calculated using the pan evaporation (PE) data. Fertigation schedule consisted of humic acid (62.
