Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L) is a predominantly rabi seed spices crop of Rajasthan. In Rajasthan it is grown in 157 thousand ha area with production of 190.36 thousand tones with productivity of 1212 Kg. /ha. One of the major constraints of its low productivity is non adoption of improved technologies. To demonstrate this 65 Front line demonstrations (FLDs) were organized by KVK, Banswara between 2013-14 and 2016-17 under tribal sub plan of ICAR- NRCSS, Tabiji Ajmer.

Turmeric variety Megha Turmeric-1 was introduced among the farming community of Kokrajhar district through farmers participatory mode for enhancing and doubling farmer’s income under Tribal Sub Plan. A total of seven demonstrations were conducted during 2017-18 in Bhaoragaja village of Alangi under Gossaigaon sub-division for disseminating the scientific production technology of high yielding (270 q/ha) Megha Turmeric-1 variety having high curcumin content (6.8%).

The study was conducted to investigate the socio-economic condition, livelihood status and comparative study of the fishermen around the two blocks of purulia district from February 2017 to July 2017. Fifty fishermen were randomly selected from the areas who were solely involved in fishing in the rivers. Several PRA tools were used to collect the data from the fishing communities such as, personal interview, crosscheck interview with extension agents, older persons, and transect walk and case study.

An investigation for tuber crops based farming system studies under the project Tribal Sub Plan, AICRP on Tuber Crops was conducted with different components of farming conducted during the year 2012-13 to 2015-16 at two locations of Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. The Location-1 was Village: Gumiyapal, Tokapal Block, Bastar District, Chhattisgarh State (N 19ᵒ 07.181’ and E 81ᵒ 50.905’; 506 msl) and Location -2 was Village: Tatirash, Keshkal Block , Kondagaon District, Chhattisgarh State (N 19 ̊59.961' and E 081 ̊35.427'; 644 msl).

The present study was conducted on 600 Vanaraja birds reared in backyard system at Udalguri district of Assam under Tribal Sub Plan project. The overall body weight of male and female Vanaraja birds at 40th week of age was recorded as 3980.53 ± 330.74 and 3080.55 ± 143.22 grams, respectively. Age of hen at first egg laying was 162.55 ± 11.43 days. Egg production of Vanaraja bird was recorded as 146 ± 14.66 per bird per year. The benefit cost ratio of male at 16 week and female Vanaraja bird at 1 year was recorded as 2.05:1 and 1.96:1, respectively.

There is need of improved and innovative technology to raise production and productivity for enhancing efficiency of agriculture in NER. The Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) is a strategy for Socio-economic development and livelihood security of tribal people of Meghalaya. The study was conducted to assess the socio-economic status of the respondents and to analyze the tangible and intangible benefits of the interventions in Rongram block of West Garo Hills distrct of Meghalaya. A total sample of 120 respondents was drawn from the different technological components.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, a planned scheme of Indian Council of Agricultural Research plays vital role by organizing various mandatory programmes to the women for their empowerment in respect of knowledge and adoption of technology for the augmentation of crop production, food security, livelihood security, etc. KVK emphasizes on women empowerment through formation and functioning of SHG and providing training on entrepreneurial training which helps them to develop self confidence, attitude, motivation, economic independence, decision making, leadership, social mobility, etc.

The present study was conducted in Kakopather and Marghertia blocks of Tinsukia district of Assam. With the interventions of the Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) project during the past 3 years i.e. 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18, a perceptible improvement in the crop productivity has been observed. With the focussed programmes and introduction of new technologies, the way of farming is transforming from subsistence low-input low-output production system to commercialization.
