RTW photodegradation experiments exhibited removal efficiencies of 53.25 % for apparent color, and 64.55 % for turbidity. Phytotoxicity assays using cucumber seeds showed low toxicity of the samples after photodegradation, which indicated that toxic compounds were fully mineralized.

The process resulted into a removal efficiency of 91.8 % of COD, 94.3 % in the case of BOD and 96.5 % in the case of turbidity after treatment of 30 minutes with the combination of Al (at cathode) and Fe (at anode) with mono-polar electrode connection in parallel.

In this work, we are interested in the quaternization of poly(acrylamide-co-4-vinylpyridine) [AM7/VP10/0.1%/] by the methyl-tosylate CH3 TS. The obtained copolymer poly(acrylamide-co-(N-methyl-4-vinylpyridinium tosylate)) [AM7/VP10/0.1%/CTs] has been characterized by 1 H NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The macromolecular weight was determined by size exclusion chromatography as well as by viscosity. With the aim of removing turbidity by coagulationflocculation from bentonite suspensions, the prepared copolymer was used as a flocculant.

In this study, we aimed to use ferrate as an all-in-one alternative for the removal of chlorine-consumed compositions such as organic, color, turbidity, iron, and manganese in river water for water supply purposes. Ferrate (FeO42-) was simultaneously employed as coagulant and oxidant for purification of Saigon River water in order to reduce the formation of disinfection byproducts in the produced tap water.

Coagulation and flocculation are preliminary used in water treatment process for turbidity removal, which popularly use synthetic chemicals with health and environmental concerns. The use of natural flocculants has known to be a promising alternative due to their environmentally friendly behavior. This research investigated on turbidity removal efficiency of mucilage extracted from Basella alba - an indigenous plant in Viet Nam - in the role of a flocculant.

The reaction between natural organic matter (NOM) and chlorine during disinfection of water potentially forms trihalomethanes (THMs), which are classified as dangerous, carcinogenic disinfection by-products. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the removal of NOM by using coagulation and flocculation via jar tests of the raw water collected from the Chinaimo water treatment plant in Laos.

In this study, we researched the main aquatic vegetation (AV) species and their orthophosphate and turbidity removal efficiencies in the Lower Kelkit Basin of Turkey. We chose an experimental area (1650 m2) in the field and determined orthophosphate (mg/L) and turbidity (NTU) variables at the charging and discharging points between November 2005 and March 2006.
