Objective: This dissertation explores the influence of pectoral fin structures at different swimming modes on a robotic fish's locomotion behavior; Some objectives are addressed to achieve the mentioned aim as follows: Firstly, new designs based on bio-inspired pectoral fin types are constructed. Secondly, to describe fin deformation and body part movement, novel dynamically mathematical models are developed.

A100-kDa proteinwith endoglucanase activitywas purified from Triton X-100 extract of cells of the thermoacidophilic Gram-positive bacterium Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius. The enzyme exhibited activity towards carboxy methyl cel-lulose and oat spelt xylan with pH and temperature optima of 4 and 80C, respectively. Cloning and nucleotide sequence analysis of the corresponding gene (celB) revealed an ORF encoding a preprotein of 959 amino acids which is consistent with an extracellular localization.

We report a detailed kinetic investigation of the aminoglycosides neomycin B and neamine as inhibitors of the lethal factor protease fromBacillus anthracis. Both inhibitors display a mixed-type, noncompetitive kinetic pat-tern, which suggests the existence of multiple enzyme–inhibitor binding sites or the involvement of multiple structural binding modes at the same site.

Staphylococcus aureushas one essential type I signal peptidase (SPase), SpsB, which has emerged as a potential target in the search for antibiotics with a new mode of action. In this framework, the biochemical properties of SpsB are described and compared with other previously characterized SPases.
