In this paper, a very simple procedure was presented for the synthesis of WO3 nanoparticles by hydrothermal treatment at 180 ◦C for 48 h using sodium tungstate and hydrochloric acid as starting materials. As-obtained WO3 nanoparticles were characterized by field emission electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).

In our paper, we propose a methodology, which – together with the related mathematical model – can offer an opportunity to reduce entropy in logistics processes. The aim of the research is to develop a model that can be used to quantify the logistical process uncertainty. We believe that research will help find a way to overcome the shortcomings of current process management procedures. We give the formal description of the mathematical model and present an example of its application.

The selection of optimal portfolios is the central problem of financial investment decisions. Mathematically speaking, portfolio selection refers to the formulation of an objective function that determines the weights of the portfolio invested in each asset as to maximize return and minimize risk. This paper applies the method of genetic algorithm (GA) to obtain an optimal portfolio selection. However, the GA parameters are of great importance in the procedure of convergence of this algorithm towards the optimal solution such as crossover.

This study examined the effects of using Microsoft Mathematics on students’ attitude, conceptual understanding, and procedural skills in Differential Calculus. A quasi-experimental research design was used in which two different learning environments were compared. The participants of the study were two classes of Electrical Engineering students enrolled in Differential Calculus course, assigned randomly as control and experimental groups with 30 students in each group.

The first procedure is based on Data Envelopment Analysis, mathematical programming technique that can be applied to assessing the efficiency of a variety of entities, using variety of data. In the Spectrophotometric methods, the concentration of a sample cannot be measured directly, but is determined using physical measuring quantity ‘y’ (absorbance of a solution).
