This study examines the impact of climate risks on banking stability across international emerging countries using a dataset of 1,857 bank-year observations from 18 countries. The Global Climate Risk Index (CRI) developed by Germanwatch is used to quantify economic damage and fatalities from extreme weather events while bank Z-score is employed to measure bank stability.

This paper focuses on testing the applicability of various financial constraints measurements in the context of the Vietnamese market. Global competition has intensified geographic repositioning of supply chain activities with implications for the economic prosperity of specific regions and geographies affected by such shifts. This study examines the relationship between the level of corruption and economic growth using the supply chain and ARDL bounds test method. The data used are GDP, the level of corruption, foreign direct investment, government spending and inflation from 2000-2018. The results of the study indicate a negative and significant impact on the level of corruption on economic growth in the long run.

This research presents a method for the identification of hazardous situations on the freeways as well as the hazard mitigation system based on the identification. The hazard identification is done using a crash risk probability model and based on the identification, mitigation strategy is employed to reduce the effect of the hazard. For this study, about 18 km long section of Eastern Freeway in Melbourne, Australia is selected as a test bed.

This thesis represents the first comprehensive study on the performance (raw and risk-adjusted), performance persistence, and market timing ability of the equity funds in Hong Kong Mandatory Provident Funds (MPF) scheme during the period 2001 – 2004. Regardless of the measure used (Jensen single-index alpha measure, Fama-French three-factor alpha measure, and modified Jensen alpha controlled by changes in exchange rates), US equity funds and Pacific-Basin excluding Japan equity funds, are found to consistently underperform relative to the market.

Poverty and inequality are among the most discussed topics in Economics. This thesis aims to investigate the empirical relationship between financial inclusion, poverty and gender inequality. Using unique cross-country panel and survey data sets, three hypotheses are tested: (1) microfinance is an effective tool for poverty reduction; (2) women’s participation in microfinance contributes to improvements in gender equality; and (3) financial inclusion has a positive effect on household income in China.

Our thesis shows the quality of semantic vector representation with random projection and Hyperspace Analogue to Language model under about the researching on Vietnamese. The main goal is how to find semantic similarity or to study synonyms in Vietnamese. We are also interested in the stability of our approach that uses Random Indexing and HAL to represent semantic of words or documents. We build a system to find the synonyms in Vietnamese called Semantic Similarity Finding System. In particular, we also evaluate synonyms resulted from our system.
