Delayed vaccinations increase the risk for vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs). Monitoring of delayed vaccinations by using a national immunisation registry has not been studied in countries recommending a twodose (3 and 5 months of age) primary series of e.g., pertussis vaccine. Surveillance/monitoring of all vaccinations may improve vaccination programmes functioning.

Measles is a highly contagious vaccine-preventable disease caused by the Morbilivirus. Measles vaccine was introduced in India in 1985 as a part of Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) which was given at 9 completed months of age. As vaccine coverage has increased, there has been a marked reduction in measles incidence in the pediatric age group; but at the same time, the average age, at which measles infection occurs, has significantly increased.

About one million children develop tuberculosis (TB) annually worldwide, accounting for about 11% of all TB cases. Children with TB differ from adults in their immunological and pathophysiological response in ways that may have important implications for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of TB in children.
