Hydatidosis is a zoonotic disease caused by the tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus. It mostly involves liver and lungs whereas the unusual sites are spleen, kidney, peritoneal cavity, skin, muscles, heart, brain, vertebral column, ovaries, pancreas, gallbladder, thyroid gland, breast, and bones. Herein, we describe a unique case of intrapleural hydatid cyst which was solely confined to the pleural space without involvement of lung parenchyma and other associated structures.

We aimed to develop a Healing Pattern Classification (HPC) to evaluate the stability of the healed vertebra based on cavity size and location.

The present study has been conducted on right and left scapulae of Indian barking deer. The scapular was triangular in outline. Medial surface presented deeper sub-scapular fossa with a distinct foramen at distal 3rd. The lateral surface was divided by a prominent scapular spine into a smaller supra-spinous fossa and a much larger infra-spinous fossa. The caudal border was the thickest of all the borders. Dorsal/vertebral border was notched towards cranial end. The outline of the caudal border in distal third was divided into two distinct ridges.

Bone is the major constituent of the skeleton which is a hallmark of all higher vertebrates. Besides the protection of internal organs and the support of body structures, the most important functions of bone are to serve as an attachment site for muscles allowing locomotion and provide a cavity for hematopoiesis in the bone marrow (Mendez-Ferrer et al. 2010; Zaidi 2007). Moreover, bone has a central role in mineral homeostasis as it functions as a reservoir for inorganic ions that can be mobilized rapidly on metabolic demand...
