Vietnam – US relation

This paper attempt to analyze the link between TBT and SPS measures on Vietnam’s seafood export to major destinations namely the US, the EU, Korea, Japan and China. To tackle this problem, the author first offers a thorough review of the literature related to evaluation of trade barriers and specifically non-tariff barriers on trade to obtain a comprehensive view of estimation methods and data used.

This paper is an effort to recollect in the most complete way the Communist Party of Vietnam’s foreign policies in general, and particularly its policies towards the United States in the last 40 years (1975 – 2013). In its relation with the United States, Vietnam has many times revised its policy orientation.

Based on this cooperation framework, the two countries developed the relations in many areas, from political, diplomatic, economic, commercial, investment areas to national defense, security, science – technology and education, even the cooperation for settlement of issues in dispute and difference between the two countries, including democracy, human rights and religions...; all of which resulted in practical benefits for the people of the two countries and contributed to ensuring peace, security and strengthening cooperation, internationally and regionally.
