  • An investigation consisting of bunch feeding on banana cv. Rajapuri (Musa AAB) was conducted during 2016-17 in the farmers field in Tadasalur village in Savadatti taluk of Belgaum district. Bunch fed with combination of 500 ml of cow dung slurry and 20 g of K2SO4 increased the characters viz., bunch weight (13.20 kg), total yield (14.66 tonnes/ ha), green life (12.67 days), shelf life (9.00 days), benefit: cost ratio (2.28:1) and reduced titrable acidity (0.24 %) and physiological loss in weight (15.34 %).

  • The present study was conducted in two districts of Upper Brahmaputra Valley Zone of Assam namely Jorhat and Majuli district in order to assess the socio-economic profile of flood affected farmers, their employment status and perception on flood impacts. A total of 160 farmers were selected from eight villages of two districts by following proportionate cum random sampling techniques. The findings reveal that majority of the respondents were in between 41-59 years of age with education level upto class VII standard and having 4-6 members in their family with average annual income Rs.7,339.

  • Bile duct cancer is commonly found in the Mekong River Basin, i.e. in the northeast of Thailand, where the main protein source is fish. The villagers usually consume uncooked cyprinid fish, which is infected with the infective stage of liver fluke.
