Violence reduction

Body worn cameras (BWC) are mobile audio and video capture devices that can be secured to clothing allowing the wearer to record some of what they see and hear. This technology is being introduced in a range of healthcare settings as part of larger violence reduction strategies aimed at reducing incidents of aggression and violence on inpatient wards, however limited evidence exists to understand if this technology achieves such goals.

The objective of this study was to examine the effects of happy Muslim family activities on a decrease in domestic violence against Thai-Muslim spouses in Satun province, Thailand. This experimental study was conducted with 40 married Thai Muslim couples in Satun province, with 20 couples in the experimental group, and the other 20 in the control group.

Isolated palmar dislocation of distal radioulnar joint is a rare injury. It can easily lead to misdiagnosis. Previous literature reports were all rotation violence. We reported a patient with direct impact violence. Case presentation: We report a 31-year-old male laborer presented to our hospital with an acute trauma. Severe tenderness and limited mobility were seen in his right wrist.

Because the effectiveness of deterrence or inducements depends, in part, on the perceptions of the target population, this study was conducted to explore youthful offendersÕ perceptions associated with gun carrying, use, and victimization. The study may help those designing violence reduction strategies better understand what may be more or less likely to deter or otherwise affect youth gun violence.

In addition, we focus on prevention of family violence, prevention and intervention for substance abuse, SIDS risk reduction, child nutrition, immunizations, child safety, developmental screening, and case management. All home visitors in the Maternal Child Health Home Visiting programs are supervised by an experienced public health nurse with a Masters in Public Health and Infant Toddler Maternal Health Graduate Certificate, who also serves a limited caseload.
