The mustard species [(Brassica juncea (brown mustard), B. nigra (black mustard), B. rapa syn. B. campestris (field mustard or turnip), and Sinapis alba (white mustard or yellow mustard)] constitute important genetic resources and sources of raw materials to large number of agrobased industries in Turkey and elsewhere. S. alba is usually used as a condiment in dry form. B. nigra is used as a condiment and as vegetable with dietary fibre, vitamin C, and other anticancer compounds. B. juncea is used for oil and as spice. B. rapa is popularly used for biofuel raw material.

Infection with Viridans Streptococci: Treatment Isolates from neutropenic patients with bacteremia are often resistant to penicillin; thus these patients should be treated presumptively with vancomycin until the results of susceptibility testing become available. Viridans streptococci isolated in other clinical settings usually are sensitive to penicillin. Abiotrophia Species (Nutritionally Variant Streptococci) Occasional isolates cultured from the blood of patients with endocarditis fail to grow when subcultured on solid media.

Vitamin D Photochemistry Cutaneous exposure to UV-B causes photolysis of epidermal 7dehydrocholesterol converting it to pre-vitamin D3, which then undergoes a temperature-dependent isomerization to form the stable hormone vitamin D3. This compound then diffuses to the dermal vasculature and circulates systemically where it is converted to the functional hormone 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3[1,25(OH)2D3]. Vitamin D metabolites from the circulation or those produced in the skin itself can augment epidermal differentiation signaling.
