Washing properties

A comparative assessment of chemical and functional properties of some varieties of lima bean consumed in Arondizuogu, Imo state were carried out. Methodology: Seven varieties of lima bean, identified on the basis of colour were purchased from a local market. One kilogram of each variety was cleaned, washed with tap water and milled into fine flours (70mm mesh screen).

The effect of washing stabilized and unstabilized blown extruded films of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) used for greenhouse coverings naturally weathered in a sub-Saharan facility at Ghardaïa (Algeria) for 19 and 6 months, respectively, was studied. A comparison between unwashed and daily washed samples was done. The changes in the films’ properties were followed at regular intervals using various characterization methods (physicochemical and mechanical).

This work reports on dyeing of nylon/elastane fabric with water-soluble phthalocyanines (1-4) bearing quinoline 5-sulfonic acid substituents on the peripheral or nonperipheral positions and determining the antibacterial efficiency of the phthalocyanine compounds and the dyed nylon/elastane fabrics. The light, washing, water, perspiration, and rubbing fastness properties of nylon/elastane fabrics dyed with phthalocyanines were also determined. The results showed that all dyed fabrics showed very good wet fastness values.

In this paper, Nuva1811, Ruco Dry ECO, FW-500D were evaluated the impact on viscose fabric. The efficiency of the process implementation was determined by measuring and analyzing the physical properties of fabric samples. Viscose fabric treated with Nuva 1811 60 g/l was evalutated the high water repellency with level 4 after finishing. However, the washing fastness properties was decreased slightly. When applied in the fiber, the polymer will form a structure that presents CF3 outer surface for maximum repellency.

The main objectives of this study were to develop jackfruit-based high fiber cookies by utilizing jackfruit rind flour in cookies formulation, and to characterize physical properties of produced high fibre cookies. Jack fruit rind pieces were undergone few soaking and washing steps prior to get dried and milled. Obtained Jackfruit rind flour (JRF) was incorporated into wheat flour (WF) in three different ratios (5, 10 and 15%) to produce partially substituted wheat flour (WF) with JRF.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of UV- irradiation, hot water dip (HWD) and ethanol vapours on the quality and storage life of moth bean sprouts (Phaseolus aconitifolius Jacq.). Moth bean seeds were washed, soaked and allowed to sprout. The sprouts were subjected to various treatments viz., ethanol vapour (30 min), hot water dip (500C for 2 min) and UV-Irradiation (10 kJm-2 for 1 h).

Using existing scientific propositions as a basis, the structure of bar commercial soap is made. It has been stated that the macrostructure of commercial soap takes the form of hexagonal prismatic cells, which are the most energetically beneficial form of full-wall crystallization structures of the system. Maximum mechanical strength is achieved within concrete time after forming the soap mass into the cake soap form.

Although plants exhibit a wide range of dyes, not all of these pigments can exhibit as dyes. Jangali Pyaz commonly known as vanpyaz (Asphodellus tenufolium) is a weed plant which is shredded off as a waste was exploited as a source of natural dye for Tassar Silk with objective of standardizing conditions of extraction and dyeing, fastness properties, ecofriendliness and colour absorption. The optimum dyeing conditions were 4g concentration, 60 minutes extraction time and 75 minutes of dyeing time.

Currently more than 20 per cent of the world’s irrigated land is salt affected. Of that about 60 per cent are sodic soils, warranting attention for efficient, inexpensive and environmentally feasible amelioration. An incubation study was performed to study the influence of amendments on physico-chemical and biological properties of sodic soil. Gypsum + Green manure @ 6.5 t ha-1 , Distillery spentwash (DSW)@ 5 lakhs liter-1 , Green leaf manure (GLM) @ 12.5 t ha-1were used as amendments for the reclamation of sodic soil by adopting standardized reclamation procedure.

This research was conducted to prepare apricot jam from the pulp of fresh mature apricots by using artificial sweeteners .Apricots were washed with clean water to remove dust particles. After sorting and pitting, apricots were cut into two halves and dipped in 0.1% citric acid solution to avoid browning. The pulp of apricots was extracted by using plumper. Apricot pulp was heated to get the desired consistency. Low heating was continued and brix were noted after every 20 minutes. Pectin with small amount of nonnutritive sweeteners were dissolved separately and added to the mixture.

ZSM-5 zeolites are widely used as catalysts in the oil refi ning and petrochemical industry due to their outstanding catalytic performance. Despite their undisputed applications, the relative small pore size of ZSM-5 zeolites often imposes intra-crystalline diff usion limitations for reactant molecules, provoking the lower catalyst utilisation. To alleviate such limitations, in this work, an additional network of mesopores has been introduced by the post-synthesis modifi cation.

The effect of chip size on hemicellulose extraction of wood and technological properties of flakeboard were investigated. Three different sizes of wood chips were treated with hot water in a digester at 170 °C for 90 min. After hydrothermal treatment, the wood chips were washed with water and then dried in a dryer.

Silane and NaOH were used to treatment bamboo shoot culm sheath fiber. After treatment, the interfacial shear strength of fiber with MAPP increased by 24% and 30% respectively. Alkali treatment has much effect on bamboo shoot culm sheath fiber than silane treatment. Washing NaOH treatment bamboo fiber with acetic acid was improved IFSS of bamboo fiber and polypropylene (PP) and strength of composite PP reinforced by bamboo fiber.

This paper presents the results of the effect content of short bamboo fiber prepared by mechanical method and alkaline treatment on mechanical properties of polymer composites (PC) based on polypropylene (PP). With content of 50% in composition, the tensile, the flexible and impact strengths have been increased as 24%, 23% and 40%, respectively in comparison with original PP. Using the prepared bamboo fiber by steam explosion method in stead of mechanical one, the tensile strength of composite increases 16%, mean while the flexible and impact strength have the equivalent value.

To validate the event mean concentrations, flow data was obtained by a flow meter that measured gallons used in the entire boat wash area. The flow meter allowed use to accurately determine the amount of wash water flowing into the Modular Wetlands Device. The flow meter was not installed until approximately July 3 so no flow data was available prior to the installation. Electronic readings were taken for pH, TDS, Conductivity, Temperature, Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), and Turbidity.

A few ores are of sufficiently high quality to require no further concentration. The natu- rally occurring impurities contained in phosphate rock ore depend heavily on the type of deposit (sedi- mentary or igneous), associated minerals, and the extent of weathering. Major impurities can include organic matter, clay and other fines, siliceous material, carbonates, and iron bearing minerals.
