Water flow modeling

The objective of this study was to establish a standard experimental model to determine the removal rate constants of wastewater pollutants in subsurface flow–constructed wetlands. This result shows the applicability of the proposed experimental model and procedure to determine the contaminant removal rate constants in constructed wetlands uniformly.

The paper proposes constructing two scenarios: current status and planned; comparing flow rates before and after urbanization for a major rainfall event on April 2, 2023. Subsequently, LID solutions are introduced and evaluated for effectiveness through each calculated scenario.

This study utilized the GIS-based Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model to simulate the flow of Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin at two hydrological stations - Nong Son and Thanh My, during the calibration period (2004 - 2010) and the verification period (2011 - 2015). The evaluation results of both periods, as measured by the NSE and R2 indexes, were found to be above 0.75.

River water flow modeling often uses measured bottom elevation data for 2D-mesh interpolation. The interpolation quality affects water flow simulation outcome. Thus, methods of q properly are needed.
